Progressive Bone Adaptation of Titanium Implants During and After Orthodontic Load in Humans
The aim of the present work was the evaluation of implant stability and periimplant bone reaction by histologic and clinical evaluation after therapeutic orthodontic loads. Forty-one adult patients received titanium implants as an orthodontic anchorage device; 12 patients received a retromolar or palatal implant to obtain tooth movement. Seven implants were removed at the end of the orthodontic therapy, after 2, 4, 6, and 12 months of orthodontic load, and processed for histologic examination. It…

Anterior Extraction & Implant Placement in a Severely Deficient Site
Extraction and implant placement is a functionally predictable therapeutic modality. Esthetic predictability, however, can sometimes prove elusive. This is especially true for the implant replacement of severely compromised anterior teeth with hard and soft tissue deficiencies within the esthetic zone.
Laser Microtextured Implant Abutments: Advantages of Connective Tissue Attachment
The science of laser microtexturing of implants and abutments is discussed. Clinical uses of this technology and benefits that it affords the clinician. Increased bone and soft tissue stability are described and documented with 14 year results.
Keys to Optimizing Soft Tissue Esthetics in Implant Therapy - Part 2
Dr. Tidu Mankoo outlines the key clinical components that are necessary to achieve predictability and esthetic results in anterior implant therapy.
Immediate Implant Placement and Loading of a Canine with a Thin Labial Plate - Surgical Video - Part 1 of 2
Dr. Alvaro Ordonez demonstrates the minimally invasive approach to the treatment of a canine with root resorption and a thin labial plate.
Simplification of the Complex Case - Restorative Efficiencies
Contemporary implant dentistry relies on a proper diagnosis, astute treatment planning with an interdisciplinary team. Vision, communication and execution are indispensable for a long term healthy esthetic outcome.
Tissue Engineering and Platelet Derived Growth Factors: Evidence Based Therapy
Platelet derived growth factors are now routinely utilized in reconstructive therapy. This presentation describes very detailed and evidence based guidelines for clinicians interested in enhancing their abilities in tissue engineering, especially as it relates to bone augmentation.
Immediate Implant Provisionalization: A Critical Aspect in Tissue Care and Esthetics
A step-by-step protocol will be presented in how to fabricate the proper screw-retained provisional restoration from the fabrication of the acrylic shell to managing and capturing the proper supportive subgingival contour.
