Summary:

Instrumentation for Modern Day Implant Surgery
Public awareness of the aesthetic possibilities through the replacement of missing or nonsalvageable teeth has been elevated with advances in dental implant therapy and related hard and soft tissue regenerative therapies. This has led to an increase in the fabrication of fixed prostheses supported by either natural teeth, dental implants, or removable prostheses anchored by implants rather than conventional tissue- or tooth-supported partial dentures.

Smoking and Complications of Endosseous Dental Implants
Titanium endosseous implants have been increasingly used in various edentulous situations for well over a decade. Cigarette smoking has long been suspected as adversely affecting wound healing. Arteriolar vasoconstriction and decreased blood flow are seen in response to smoking. In the oral cavity,an increase in plaque accumulation,a higher incidence of gin-givitis and periodontitis,a higher rate of tooth loss, and an increased resorption of the alveolar ridge have been found among smokers.

Total Rehabilitation of the Edentulous Patient with the All-on-4® treatment concept
A fixed implant supported prosthesis is the ideal treatment option for the edentulous patient and those facing the imminent loss of their remaining dentition. Through innovation, along with continuous clinical and scientific research, it has become possible to treat virtually every edentulous case with a highly functional and esthetic fixed solution. This widely applicable surgical protocol allows for a simple and immediate rehabilitation with a provisional bridge fixed on 4 implants, with minimum cantilevers, 3-4 hours after the surgery. The final prosthodontic work is of extreme importance. The MALO CLINIC Ceramic Bridge is the epitome of biomedical engineering combined with NobelProcera® CAD\CAM technology to provide patients with an extremely esthetic precision implant supported functional replication of the natural dentition.

Digital Dentistry in the Management of Simple and Complex Cases: The Digital Intra-Scanner
The advent of new technologies has enabled the utilization of new materials and equipment that facilitate the production of restorations with an accuracy that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain reliably. This lecture utilizes patient presentations to help analyze and highlight new systematic clinical protocols that have been developed to optimize the evolving knowledge in digital dentistry and materials.
These protocols have allowed us to modify work flow and operational techniques to shorten lead times, while maintaining optimal accuracy. Advantages and disadvantages of the methods outlined will be evaluated and analyzed on the basis of existing literature and personal experience.
