Managing the Extraction Site - Optimal Preservation and Enhancement Techniques
There is rarely a day that clinicians do not have to deal with an extraction site. If implant therapy is a consideration, then bone and soft tissue quantity and quality must be factored into treatment options. The ideal opportunity for bone preservation exists at the time of tooth extraction. All too often this opportunity is lost. Extraction techniques will be demonstrated that not only preserve but augment the amount of alveolar bone. The importance of piezosurgery, atraumatic surgical technique, the use of bone grafts, resorbable membranes and growth factors will be elucidated along with soft tissue enhancement.

The Hidden Value of Digital Radiography for Caries Detection
The webinar will cover the basic features of Logicon and how it works, our recommended protocol for using it, and its role in the treatment plan for the version (4.0) presently on the market, where the dentist selects the surfaces to analyze and initiates the analysis. The webinar will also describe a new version (5.0) presently under FDA review that raises digital caries detection to a new level where all the surfaces in a bitewing radiograph are analyzed automatically at one time to give the dentist (and patient) a more global view of the state of their teeth.

Smile Design and The Bonded Functional Esthetic Prototype (BFEP)
The lecture will cover some simple Photoshop techniques to enhance a smile digitally to present to the patient and motivate them to accept treatment. This lecture will mainly focus on the the step-by-step process of how to turn the 2-dimensional Photoshop smile design into a 3D Bonded Functional Esthetic Prototypes (BFEP’s) the patient wears to verify esthetic and functional acceptance. A very efficient technique using a new highly flowable but highly filled micro-hybrid that uses an injection molding tray technique will be demonstrated. A full arch composite bonding can be done in one hour with this technique. This BFEP technique can be used for “trial smiles” for pre-treatment esthetic and functional evaluation by the patient and the treatment team. It can also be used for long-term functional temporization for years if necessary. The BFEP will then be used as the final guide for preparations for Anterior Etched Ceramic restorations (porcelain veneers and glass ceramics.
