Platelet Rich Fibrin - PRF - 2nd Generation of Platelet Rich Concentrates

Description:
In this very technical and scientific presentation, Dr. Joseph Choukroun, a physician and researcher from France, describes the benefits of Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) in wound healing. He emphasizes the effect of PRF on the two essential factors of wound healing which are new vessels and cells in surgical sites like Extraction sockets, sinus augmentation and more.

Thank you for your presentation,, wanna ask a question dr choukroun ,, PRF may be used as a membrane instead of collagen membrans in guided tissue regeneration

Thank you for your presentation. I look forward to seeing you October 19th in Atlanta during your presentation there. One question I have is the handling of the Fibrin membrane for a ridge augmentation for vertical height. Can the autograft PRF membrane be left partially exposed when used to cover particulate allograft bone or do the same rules apply for complete non tension tissue flap apposition as they do for all other types of allograft membranes? Will exposure of the PRF fibrin membrane lead to a dihessiance or the potential for increase infection and loss of allograft like that of other allograft membranes left exposed? Thanks- Mark

Ken, welcome in the community! you have several videos in the website www.processforprf.com Do not hesitate to ask us if you need more teaching. My pleasure to guide you.

Bonjour Dr. Choukroun; two very informative videos. I have used PRP and got some improved healing with it several years ago. Then Thrombin was taken off the market in Canada. I understand and appreciate your detailed explanations of why L-PRF is the best & easiest autologous product to improve healing. I have purchased your kit from Dental XP and await with great anticipation to use it. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. Merci, Ken.

What centrifuge is best to use?

Sergey Nikitin - (12/10/2011 15.56)

Dear Joseph Choukroun Could you explain me the protocol of preparetion of PRF, i mean the speed of centrifuge and the time of preparation. Bst regards.

Joseph Choukroun - (04/09/2011 15.50)

Myron, you are right. the most important is to understand and to apply specific protocols in tissue engineering. My next course is in Miami (nov.) or Atlanta (march). Joseph

very informative...have yet to find a clinical step by step protocol Myron Gottfried DDS

Socket Gafting with the use of Autologous Bone - an Experimental Study in the Dog
In five beagle dogs, the distal roots of the third and fourth mandibular premolars were removed. The sockets in the right or the left jaw quadrant were grafted with either anorganic bovine bone or with chips of autologous bone harvested from the buccal bone plate. After 3 months of healing, biopsies of the experimental sites were sampled, prepared for buccal–lingual ground sections and examined with respect to size and composition.

Alloplastic Bone Substitutes Around Dental Implants

Alloplastic Bone Substitutes Around Dental Implants
The repair of osseous defects has been a goal in dentistry for many decades. Subsequently, within the last several years, there has been an emergence of a new class of materials in dentistry referred to as synthetic bone. Finding the ideal bone substitute material has been the goal of researchers for many years. In attempting to achieve this ideal material, dental practitioners have tried with varying degrees of success: autogenous and demineralized freeze-dried bone, allografts of plastic, carbon…
