The Rotated Palatal Pedicle Flap: A Powerful Connective Tissue Grafting Technique
The rotated palatal pedicle flap was first described in 1999 and has become an essential tool in our box of tricks for implant and soft tissue and bone augmentation surgery. It is a vascularized pedicle graft that helps us achieve excellent soft tissue bulk, increased amounts of attached gingiva and awesome soft tissue contours. It is also important in double flap closure for passive flap closure and many many more treatment options. This webinar will detail the exact techniques to allow you to carry out this excellent grafting procedure as well as many tips and tricks for simplifying and demystifying this technique.
"P.E.T." & Socket Shield - The Technique Beyond the Concept
This presentation will provide the viewer an in-depth review of a new innovative armamentarium and techniques utilized for "PET" (Partial Extraction Therapies) and specifically Socket Shield approaches for tooth replacement with dental implants. The actual step-by-step design and utilization of each bur and tool will be highlighted as well as a biological rationale supported by current literature and histology. The new Brasseler PET System will be thoroughly reviewed as well as to it's simplicity and effectiveness in contemporary dentistry today.
Immediate Implant Provisionalization: A Critical Aspect in Tissue Care and Esthetics-Part 2
A step-by-step protocol will be presented in how to fabricate the proper screw-retained provisional restoration from the fabrication of the acrylic shell to managing and capturing the proper supportive subgingival contour.
Restorative Material Selection in Modern Prosthetics
The scope of restorative dentistry is changing at a rapid pace. Technological evolutions in optical scanning, 3D printing, milling and new age materials is in a revolution versus old world concepts. What to choose, why and then when makes the dental team and lab a critical part of the material selection team. What materials are the strongest, most durable and esthetic are key elements in this new world. This presentation will provide you an up to date review of the current materials available and the scientific literature to support specific guidelines as to the selection process. Zirconium, Lithium Disilicates, alumina etc. will be discussed as well as the correct cementation materials with these new products.
Vestibuloplasty: Indications and Techniques
Description: Following the complete loss of teeth, the alveolar bone undergoes various degrees of resorption, particularly in response to tissue-supported conventional dentures. This results in loss of vestibule and decreased surface area for denture support. In this presentation, Dr. H. Ryan Kazemi reviews various vestibuloplasty procedures that have been described for restoring the vestibular depth and increasing denture surface area. Additionally, he discusses the application of vestibuloplasty in the management of patients with bone augmentation and implants who commonly present with decreased vestibular depth, the inadequate zone of keratinized gingiva, and thin soft tissue biotype. A step-by-step surgical technique is presented that will increase vestibular depth, the zone of attached gingiva, and soft tissue thickness for enhanced aesthetics and function of dental implants.
