Delfin and Milo; The research on Zirconium implants is positive for osseointegration similar to titanium implants. The Z system is an FDA approved Zircoium Implant system in the USA but there are many others that have been approved and being sold in Europe. It is an excellent option for those of us practicing metal-free dentistry like yourself. Milo, you have to prep the Zirconium implant at times and to place the margins subgingivally. We utilize Brassler diamond burs for slight reductions and margin finishing and chromium cobalt for gross reduction if needed. All this must be performed under copious irrigation. Thanks for the posts Dr. Salama

Hello everyone, Im from Costa Rica. I struggle to practice a metal free dentistry. A lot of patients that are interested in neurofocal dentistry prefer having no teeth than using titanium implants. Im interested in zirconium implants but Im not sure about the research behind them.

What bur are you using to prep over the zirconium, carbide or diamond?

Any XP members using Zirconium implants in their clinical practices? I have done a few of the Z-Systems and have had good results so far.
