Description:
This seminar will highlight interdisciplinary aspects of treatment to achieve optimum outcomes in challenging cases. The cases presented range from single tooth replacement in the esthetic zone to full-arch rehabilitation and reconstruction of composite defects with restorative and surgical modalities. Emphasis will be placed on meeting and exceeding patient needs and working as a team in an everyday private practice setting. Surgical modalities presented will include creation of optimum hard and soft tissue architecture as well as peri-implant tissue modification procedures prior, during and after implantation. The Merger of Orthodontics with Cosmetic Dentistry Premium Member Content

The Merger of Orthodontics with Cosmetic Dentistry
As orthodontists, we don’t do laminates. But when we are finishing a case, sometimes the smile just doesn’t “look right”. But not all our patients either want or can afford laminates. Not all even need them to get a great smile. So, what principles can we learn from the cosmetic dentists and use in our orthodontic cases? Apparently quite a lot! In this presentation, Dr. Sarver will illustrate finishing procedures such as reshaping contacts, connectors, embrasures, and even soft tissue contouring with lasers to achieve that next level of smile presentation in your orthodontic cases.

The clinician's and technician's professional backgrounds and relationships are critical to achieving optimal aesthetic and functional results; while prosthetic success depends upon an in-depth knowledge of the materials and their properties and on carefully performed clinical procedures, which are still of utmost importance to obtain satisfactory results.

Arabs in 900 AD utilized mirrors to illuminate body cavities, and Nitze in the 1870s incorporated lenses with an incandescent platinum wire loop for illumination. All were restricted by the inability to transfer sufficient light distally into…
