Biomechanical and Occlusal Considerations in Posterior Implant Therapy - Part 1 of 2

Description:
In this 1st of a 2 part presentation, Dr. Bassam Rabie details the critical biomechanical and occlusal considerations that clinicians must incorporate in planning posterior implant restorations. Emphasis is placed in factors that may especially be relevant to the treatment of implants placed in grafted sites, especially in sites receiving sinus elevation.

Hi Dr Rabie ...nice presentation ..Thank you ...at 8.43 you mention you get screw loosening with screw retained versus cement retained restoration.i don't get this point as a cement retained restoration is attached to the screw retained abutment ..thus biomechanically the same thing.I agree i do more cement retained but not necessarily because they are less likely to loosen? Also you have not suggested the use of 2 standard implants in a molar restoration which would be of even greater surface area and biomechanically superior...do you agree?

What Tissue Changes Can We Expect with Anterior Implant Therapy?
Minimizing soft tissue changes following anterior implant therapy is one of the holy grails in implant dentistry. Gingival recession will not only impact the patient’s esthetics, the difficulties in correcting such problem create further challenges to the clinicians. This presentation will focus on how much soft tissue changes can be expected following implant in the esthetic zone. Discussion will be made as to the etiology of gingival recession and what we can do to prevent it from happening.

The Interdisciplinary Software Platform. The Key For Modern Digital Dentistry
The starting point of a facially driven interdisciplinary dental treatment plan is "The Smile Frame". A few crucial photos and steps will come together to create the ultimate template you need to communicate to your dental team, colleagues, and the patient to ultimately increase case acceptance and create the most aesthetic and functional method of rehabilitation to your patient. We will discuss how this paradigm shift of regular analog dentistry has shifted to this modern digital world and the benefits it provides.

Interdisciplinary Dynamics of Complex Therapy: An Integrated Approach to Treatment Planning
This presentation challenges and guides clinicians to ask, and answer, fundamental questions that are required for designing successful treatment plans when facing complex cases. 1) What do I know (DIAGNOSIS), 2) Where do I apply it (EFFICACY), and 3) When do I apply it (SEQUENCE OF THERAPY). A special emphasis in this presentation will be placed on communication between team members, including clinicians, staff and laboratory. Methods of communications, such as digital design and mock-ups are also highlighted as part of an integrated approach to Treatment planning.

Site Preparation & Osseodensification in Bone Management
Today's implant arena involves not only the understanding of procedures but also the science behind wound healing. Often new technologies and instrumentation evolves that have a significant impact on what we are able to do clinically. Piezosurgical devices, periotomes, osteotomes, hydraulic sinus devices, neurosurgical drills, and the "PET" (Partial Extraction Therapies) system are just a short list of those that have made surgery more efficient and less traumatic for our patients. Osseodensification is another concept that can be added to this long list. This lecture will speak about new age bone management concepts and how these technologies may be able to assist us. Potential issues and focus on use will be touched upon as well.

Digital Dentistry in the Management of Simple and Complex Cases: The Digital Intra-Scanner - Part 2
The advent of new technologies has enabled the utilization of new materials and equipment that facilitate the production of restorations with an accuracy that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain reliably. This lecture utilizes patient presentations to help analyze and highlight new systematic clinical protocols that have been developed to optimize the evolving knowledge in digital dentistry and materials. These protocols have allowed us to modify work flow and operational techniques to shorten lead times, while maintaining optimal accuracy. Advantages and disadvantages of the methods outlined will be evaluated and analyzed on the basis of existing literature and personal experience.

Revolutionary Dental Implant Material Technology: Trabecular Metal Premium Member Content

Revolutionary Dental Implant Material Technology: Trabecular Metal
To date, enhancement to implant surface technology has been evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Trabecular Metal has changed all that. This is because Trabecular Metal allows for true bone 'in-growth' rather than just on-growth. This webinar will highlight, in detail, this new implant surface technology, related literature, as well as its enhancing effect on current clinical implant protocols. In addition, techniques for immediate provisionalization of this implant will also be covered in an accompanying surgical video.

Techniques for the Use of CT Imaging for the Fabrication of Surgical Guides

Techniques for the Use of CT Imaging for the Fabrication of Surgical Guides
Implant dentistry has evolved into one of the most predictable treatment alternatives for partially and completely edentulous patients. The initial excitement about successful osseointegration has allowed clinicians to offer an extended set of treatment alternatives that include single tooth replacement to full mouth reconstruction. Pioneering protocols of the early 1980s relied on a two-stage surgical approach that allowed for the biological aspects of osseointegration to be achieved at the cellular level, insuring long-term success. These procedures often required extended periods of time to complete. Through strategic marketing and word of mouth, demand for implant-related treatment continues to grow and has compelled clinicians to search for new and improved methods to deliver such care within a shorter time period without sacrificing accuracy. As treatment protocols have progressed...
