Bone Reconstruction: A New Algorithm for the Implantologist

Description:
Bone augmentation is often required to place an adequate number of dental implants in ideal positions for prosthetic support. In addition to biomechanical demands bone augmentation can also provide proper ridge contour for improved esthetic outcomes. Disadvantages of bone augmentation techniques include increase morbidity, surgical time, costs and treatment length. As such a trend has develop towards treatment approaches that avoid bone grafting including shorter and narrower implants, angled implants and/or fewer implants for prosthetic support. This presentation will look at various bone augmentation techniques, methods to minimize the morbidity of bone grafting and guide clinicians on implant rehabilitation with grafting versus non-grafting approaches.

Gerald Rudick Excellent presentation, covered all the key points and gave improved credibility to the use of short imlants

Amir Erez - (11/27/2017 3:06 AM)

I agree totally, minimal invasive when ever possible is the key, short implants are gaining our trust and should be considered in many cases as first choice. Awesome lecture. Thank you and looking fw for your next presentation.

Modern Day Esthetic Challenges with Implants in the Esthetic Zone
Current trends in implant therapy advocate clinical techniques thereby allowing treatment efficiency consisting of condensed clinical procedures, fewer patient appointments, and shortened overall treatment time. Even though there is overwhelming literature to support positive outcomes in regards to implant survival through immediate implant therapy and tooth replacement strategies, esthetics questions still loom, specifically how to handle multiple tooth sites in the esthetic zone. This presentation will address treatment planning strategies with multiple tooth sites incorporating teeth, immediate implants with tooth replacement, and pontics in the esthetic zone. Innovations in implant macro design, to achieve more consistent screw-retained definitive restorations, and devices / strategies in provisional restoration fabrication to save time will be presented.

A Review of Clinical Applications for Soft Tissue Allografts & Autografts: Solutions for Teeth, Implants, and Dentures
The presentation focuses on the clinical applications for acellular dermal graft (ADG) materials. ADGs have been commonly presented and discussed to provide solutions for treating gingival recession. Compared to autogenous grafts, they have the advantage of minimizing pain, discomfort, and surgery time for patients by avoiding an intraoral donor site such as the palate.

Combination Therapies in the Esthetic Zone: Steps for Success Premium Member Content

Combination Therapies in the Esthetic Zone: Steps for Success
This presentation will cover the critical aspects to consider for deciding the sequence and implementation of combination therapies. Successful esthetic zone treatment must begin with a well thought-out space management plan. This plan involves a three dimensional adjustment of the periodontal attachment, with a possibility of root submergence and partial extraction technique. Following this, a decision is made concerning the timing and position of implant placement, and an adequate hard tissue foundation can be restored using GBR with titanium mesh and collagen membrane. On top of this base a more efficient soft tissue augmentation and adjustment completes the requirements for success in the esthetic zone.

Microsurgical Soft Tissue Reconstruction for Teeth & Implants - Part 2 of 2
Esthetics plays a key role in a modern society and the average dental health of the population is improving every day. In such environment, the demands of dental treatments are different and dentists should approach their patients in a different way: they should be prepared to implement different and modern techniques around teeth and implants. Soft tissue grafting techniques provide the dentist with an armamentarium that makes possible to prevent and solve many problems and complications around teeth and implants, making more predictable the treatments results. This presentation is focused in the importance of soft tissue grafting techniques around teeth and implants and how to do it in a predictable, modern and a minimally invasive way. We present many different techniques illustrated with clinical cases.

Protocols for Aesthetic Zone Management: From Maintenance to 3D Reconstruction
Managing aesthetic zone with dental implants is one of the most challenging and demanding treatments in dentistry due to biological limitations. During the lecture the author will systematize how to face each different clinical situation, utilizing different autogenous tissues combined with a micro surgical approach, in order to have the best healing patterns and scar-less surgery.

Connective Tissue & Bone Graft for Anterior Immediate Implant Placement
Immediate implant placement in a one-stage approach, with or without provisionalization, has proven to be advantageous in preserving gingival anatomy around dental implants. But placing implants immediately in the changing alveolar bone of an extraction socket can result in progressive recession of the gingival labial margin over the implant restoration. Thicker biotypes and bone of the labial periimplant tissue have been shown to promote long-term stable gingival margins. A surgically simple technique…

Current Trends in Gingival Recession Coverage

Current Trends in Gingival Recession Coverage
The recession of the gingiva is increasingly becoming a more prominent condition in the oral health of many patients and should be treated at its earliest detection. The multifactorial etiology, decision modality, and current trends followed in the treatment of gingival recession are discussed in this presentation. The correction of Class I and II gingival recessions are presented as a means of minimizing surgical trauma and achieving predictable aesthetic results. Part II of this discussion will present alternative techniques in treating gingival recession.

Connective Tissue Graft Using Alloderm
Gingival recession is a clinical condition encountered in many dental practices during routine patient care. Fortunately, there are a variety of surgical procedures that the clinician can use to address gingival recession and return the patient to optimal health and aesthetics. As dental professionals gain a higher awareness of the available surgical materials and restorative techniques, the success and predictability of treatment for gingival recession on single and multiple adjacent teeth has…
