CAD CAM Dentistry for Teeth and Implants

Description:
This webinar will discuss options for Cad/Cam fabrication of ceramic restorations for teeth and implants. The technologies available today can give the same aesthetic restorations with half the time, and half the visits. The software capabilities are available for all types of restorations. All the different types of scanners will be discussed and how they are used in a prosthetic private practice. Various CAD - ceramic materials allow the clinician to get high translucency, high flexural strength and excellent marginal integrity.

Good presentation about advantages of the digital dentistry. it was missing TRIOS scanner among others. Great point is made that a dentist has to do design, not clueless techs in labs. Unfortunately, there were no full contour zirconia restorative options presented, thus missing a vector modern dentistry is taking now. I will not comment on the implant (fixture level) work.

Great presentation Dean! When you make the fixed provisional out of Emax in the anterior, do you end up destroying them during removal?

Maurice Salama - (5/30/2014 8:29 AM)

Are you scanning at the time of placement routinely and are you loading sooner? Thanks Maurice

John Heimke - (5/28/2014 11:00 AM)

Dr Dean Nice job as always and I learn something new to take back and use. See you next month at Dental XP Fl

Great lecture. I have been using a scanner in the office for 6 months now with great success using implant scanning abutments. I just wanted to ask again about cementing ceramic crowns with temporary cement. I always like to temp cement abutment supported restorations. You mention that cementing an e-max/ceramic restoration with temp cement is routinely done. Are there concerns with fracture. I was under the impression the bonding is necessary for these restoration. Thank you.

Real Time / Dynamic Guided Surgery in Fully Edentulous Patients
Implant treatment is one of the most exciting areas of dental therapy. Within the last 30 years, we have been able to develop and discover new techniques, instruments, software and equipment that have made this therapy more secure and predictable, such as the CBCT and the guided surgery, today with the guided systems we are able to have our implants “in the right” place considering the bone, the prosthesis, the biomechanics, and the esthetics. This lecture will show you step-by-step how guided surgery has evolved in dentistry today and we can achieve more predictable results even with immediate extraction and immediate implant placement.

Achieving Stable Esthetic Results with Implant Supported Restorations
We will discuss basic concept regarding immediate implant placement and guided bone regeneration procedure related to the esthetic zone before focusing on the soft tissue management. We will describe the prosthetic procedures which are performed before, during and after the surgical procedures. Provisional restorations, impression techniques, prosthetic profiles and restorative materials will be presented. The purpose of the presentation is to provide a check list that will guide the clinician developing a proper analysis and diagnosis for the successful esthetic result with implant supported restoration.

Novel Implant Planning Protocol Utilizing the 3A-2B Rule to Enhanced Predictability
This presentation describes some basic biological aspects that can be used as a rule in any treatment planning, simple or complex, to determine the viability and the ideal type of restoration in order to obtain a high aesthetic outcome. A novel Radiographic Biological Ruler will be presented and used in different type of cases to explain the concept of 3A-2B.

Smoking and Complications of Endosseous Dental Implants

Smoking and Complications of Endosseous Dental Implants
Titanium endosseous implants have been increasingly used in various edentulous situations for well over a decade. Cigarette smoking has long been suspected as adversely affecting wound healing. Arteriolar vasoconstriction and decreased blood flow are seen in response to smoking. In the oral cavity,an increase in plaque accumulation,a higher incidence of gin-givitis and periodontitis,a higher rate of tooth loss, and an increased resorption of the alveolar ridge have been found among smokers.

Instrumentation for Modern Day Implant Surgery

Instrumentation for Modern Day Implant Surgery
Public awareness of the aesthetic possibilities through the replacement of missing or nonsalvageable teeth has been elevated with advances in dental implant therapy and related hard and soft tissue regenerative therapies. This has led to an increase in the fabrication of fixed prostheses supported by either natural teeth, dental implants, or removable prostheses anchored by implants rather than conventional tissue- or tooth-supported partial dentures.
