special thx dr thomas

Where is the discussion of TMD and airway problems? These kids developed these malocclusion problems/problems associated with growth and development due to improperly formed palate. Palatal growth is driven by the airway problems associated with adenoids and tonsils. If ortho treatments are done with these old fashioned Stein analysis alone, Dr. Sperling's patients will definitely develop serious TMD problems.

I agree with dr durrani, I would love to see some presentations on the main different types of malocclusion to provide an overview for further learning. Thanks.

Assessment and Treatment in Dentofacial Esthetics: A Comprehensive Global Perspective
Dr. Sarver will present a different system of esthetic classification which is made up of three major components: Macroesthetics (the facial appearance), Miniesthetics (the smile) and Miniesthetics (the teeth and gingival scaffold). These three features are all interactive-an adjustment of one has a cascade effect on the other two, and it is important to recognize all three to raise your level of care. Numerous clinical case presentations are designed to illustrate this structure of diagnosis and treatment graphically and clearly.

Orthodontic Management of Impacted Teeth Premium Member Content

Orthodontic Management of Impacted Teeth
Over the last 25 years we have managed different clinical situations that include every tooth in the mouth that can be impacted on an orthodontic patient. We will focus the webinar both on mucogingival considerations as well as orthodontic biomechanics. Impacted teeth can be a challenge and can make a treatment last longer. We will show a logic approach to these situations. That produces good stability, periodontal health and relative short treatment time.

An Orthodontist's Guide to Prescribing Conventional 2D and 3D CBCT Radiographs
Radiographic diagnosis is an important part of orthodontic treatment planning. 3D conebeam CT (CBCT) has advanced orthodontic care for many patients; however, it has not supplanted conventional two-dimensional radiographs which, when comparing equal levels of radiation, offer superior image quality. This Webinar explains when CBCT is indicated with/in place of 2D radiography and how to prescribe 2D and/or 3D x-ray on a patient-specific basis, thereby conforming to Federal guidelines mandating radiation levels 'as low as reasonably achievable' -- especially with regard to younger patients.

Orthodontic Caries Control and Bleaching
Oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment can be facilitated by applying bleaching materials to elevate the pH of the mouth during the course of treatment. Fabrication of thermoplastic bleaching trays directly in the mouth over the braces without impressions affords a reasonable technique for the multiple trays required during the orthodontic changes.

Esthetics and Anterior Tooth Position: An Orthodontic Perspective Part 1 - Crown Length
Orthodontics plays a major role in dental esthetics, other than aligning malposed anterior teeth. Factors such as anterior crown length, crown width, midline proportions, tooth angulations, and vertical tooth positions may be critical to anterior dental esthetics and treatable with orthodontic therapy. This article discusses the evaluation and treatment of discrepancies in anterior crown length.
