great presentation. I noticed on the video that you again placed prf over the periosteum then placed the alloderm. Am I correct on the observation?

Mauricio; I would prefer today the Ti-mesh over CurV because of micro-perforations and allowing of blood and nutrients to easily pass through and due to it's rigid space maintenance throughout the healing phase. The downside is obviously the risk of early wound dehiscence with mesh. regards and thank you Dr. Salama

Advanced Bone Grafting Techniques: Part 2 - Autogenous Bone Blocks in the Reconstruction of the Atrophic Maxillary Ridge
This lecture will describe the use of autologous onlay block bone grafting for reconstruction of moderate to severe atrophic maxillary alveolar ridge. This will include a discussion of the various options to this form of grafting, such as short implants, maxillary sinus augmentation, sub-nasal elevation procedure, connective tissue grafting and soft tissue manipulation, Le-Fort I down fracture/osteotomy and the use of progenitor cells: bone marrow aspirating concentrated. A description of surgical donor harvest sites in the mandible will also be performed as well as post-op healing of these sites. Additional time will be spent reviewing causes of failure with bone blocks and implants placed into these sites.

Bone Reconstruction: A New Algorithm for the Implantologist
Bone augmentation is often required to place an adequate number of dental implants in ideal positions for prosthetic support. In addition to biomechanical demands bone augmentation can also provide proper ridge contour for improved esthetic outcomes. Disadvantages of bone augmentation techniques include increase morbidity, surgical time, costs and treatment length. As such a trend has develop towards treatment approaches that avoid bone grafting including shorter and narrower implants, angled implants and/or fewer implants for prosthetic support. This presentation will look at various bone augmentation techniques, methods to minimize the morbidity of bone grafting and guide clinicians on implant rehabilitation with grafting versus non-grafting approaches.

Combination Therapies in the Esthetic Zone: Steps for Success
This presentation will cover the critical aspects to consider for deciding the sequence and implementation of combination therapies. Successful esthetic zone treatment must begin with a well thought-out space management plan. This plan involves a three dimensional adjustment of the periodontal attachment, with a possibility of root submergence and partial extraction technique. Following this, a decision is made concerning the timing and position of implant placement, and an adequate hard tissue foundation can be restored using GBR with titanium mesh and collagen membrane. On top of this base a more efficient soft tissue augmentation and adjustment completes the requirements for success in the esthetic zone.

Placement of an end osseous implant requires sufficient bone volume for complete bone coverage.Further-more,the patter no fridge resorption ,which contributes to a nun favorable maxillo mandibular relationship,requires angulation of the implant and/or angled abutment,and affects the proximity of adjacent facial concavities (maxillary sinus,nasal cavity)and vital structures(mandibular nerve).

Flapless Postextraction Socket Implant Placement in the Esthetic Zone: Part 1. The Effect of Bone Grafting and/or Provisional Restoration on Facial-Palatal Ridge Dimensional Change
The dental literature has reportted vertical soft tissue changes that can occur with immediate implant placement, bone grafting, and provisional restoration ranging from a gain or loss of 1.0mm. However, little is known of the effects of facial-palatal collapse of the ridge due to these clinical procedures. Based upon treatment modalities rendered, an ensuing contour change can occur with significant negative esthetic consequences. The results of a retrospective clinical cohort study evaluating the change in horizontal ridge dimension associated with implant placement in anterior postextraction sockets are presented for four treatment groups. Therefore, it is recommended to place a bone graft and contoured healing abutment or provisional restoration at the time of flapless postextraction socket implant placement.
