Diagnosis, Planning, & Treatment of Altered Passive Eruption; From a Periodontists Perspective

Description:
This presentation will teach how to diagnose cases of altered passive eruption based on the radiographic evaluation (with periapical rx and CBCT) and how to plan and document a surgical procedure aimed to ‘uncover’ the beautiful and natural hidden enamel. In a world where esthetics is becoming more and more a concern a simple periodontal plastic surgical procedure can re-establish esthetic and balance to the patients affected by this condition.

Dear Thaer, yes the teeth are always prepared for veneer to maintain the original thickness even if the shape is different. Minimal prep but prep

Taher Sandougdh - (7/7/2017 6:29 PM)

dear doc. did they prep the teeth for the laminates? or been cemented directly as a Lumineers?

Roberto Rossi - (7/6/2017 9:40 AM)

Thanks Attila. I am used to burs but I also use piezo instruments sometimes. Piezo is surely more delicate in certain instances, but in the end in the past 25 years with burs I had quite consistent results. It's good to have all these new technologies and learn to adjust it to our routine. Hope to see you soon

Roberto Rossi - (7/6/2017 9:37 AM)

Dear Ron thanks for your appreciation, happy you enjoyed the presentation

Attila Bodrogi - (7/6/2017 3:25 AM)

Dear Roberto, congratulation to your outstanding presentation. This is why I love being part of this group of Experts. Nice approach to great results! And as usual the key is planning: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance!!! DSD and facially driven smile design on top of biologic principles lead our blades or lasers during surgery. I have many cases with canted maxilla when not only the position of CEJ and biologic width are the only ruling forces but facial reference lines too. You showed osseous contouring with rotating diamond instruments, What is your opinion on piezo device? If piezo tip works only on the top there's no issue with root damage... But once again I really enjoyed watching your approach and cases, not mentioning the view from your office:) regards, Attila

Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy: Decision Making in the 21st Century
Non-surgical periodontal therapy is a vital part of everyday dental practice. Since the majority of periodontal therapy is performed by general dentists and dental hygienists, it is critical that clinicians have all of the requisite skills and information needed to perform these services at the highest level possible. The purpose of this presentation is to provide the latest evidence- and practice- based information on periodontal debridement and adjunctive therapies that can improve patient outcomes. Though surgical procedures may still need to be performed in some sites, the majority of inflammatory periodontal disease can be eliminated or reduced significantly using the techniques and protocols discussed in this educational segment on non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Peri-Implantitis: Diagnosis, Etiology and Treatment
The dental implant therapy has evolved both in implant surface and design. The reason for the initial crestal bone loss has been proven and the risks of having a peri-implantitis have increased due to the early exposure of roughened surface. The prevalence of peri-implantitis is at a range of 28 to 56%. The role of dental professionals nowadays is to know how to interpret the signs of inflammation and establish the diagnosis of peri-implantitis, which is the most challenging, and be able to treat it properly since this is becoming a more needed therapy.

Clinical and Microbiological Effects of Local Tetracycline Irrigation on Periodontitis
This investigation was conducted on seven individuals referred for treatment of moderate adult periodontitis. Twenty-eight sites with an average probing depth of 5.6 ± 0.9 mm were evaluated. One tooth per jaw quadrant was randomly assigned to receive one of the following treatments: (I) no treatment, i.e., control; (II) saline irrigation; (III) tetracycline irrigation and (IV) scaling and root planing (SC/RP). A plaque control program was instituted one week prior to the experimental period and reinforced…
