Restorative vs. Orthodontic Therapy; Alternative Management and Lab-Dentist Communication
Patients often refuse orthodontic realignment and correction due to the length of treatment required even if it may be the best or most conservative therapy. In same cases, patients will get anxious about having metal or even invisible ceramic braces in their mouth for even a short period of time. On other hand, cosmetic dentistry is able to satisfy the patients with the same needs by using porcelain-veneers as an alternative to orthodontics treatment. This presentation describes a patient who has rejected orthodontic therapy but continues to seek a improved cosmetic result. Porcelain veneers and crowns were an appropriate alternative in this case. This presentation will highlight the usage, simplicity and precision of planning and execution using the 3D smile design software.
