Treatment of the Fully Edentulous Patient: Prosthetic Implant Solutions
Restoration of the completely edentulous patient with dental implant therapy is a rewarding treatment modality for the patient and dentist. In order to accomplish consistent and predictable treatment outcomes, an understanding of the fundamental principles of implant biomechanics, prosthetic, surgical and treatment planning considerations is required. Dr. Aldo Leopardi’s objective is to bring all of these factors into perspective, through an understanding of the current literature and how to apply it to clinical practice. Discussion will include, but not be limited to: Review of treatment planning for the overdenture patient. To understand the biomechanical principles in Prosthetic. Design: stress broken verses rigid design concepts. Discussion of fixed implant restorative solutions for the completely edentulous patient.

The Aesthetic Cad/Cam Interface
Computer aided design and computer aided manufacture has been involved in Dentistry for many years. Since the 1980’s we have been trying to produce in-surgery porcelain restorations with considerable variation in success. Common criticisms of this technique have been poor fits, poor aesthetics and poor occlusal control. Dr Julian Caplan has been involved in developing techniques utilizing this constantly changing technology to overcome these short falls. He has now reached a position where he is able to create beautiful, well fitting multiple restorations that allow proper functional control and he achieves this in a single day. This lecture will concentrate on Cerec technology and how he has utilized this over the last 10 years to producing highly aesthetic smile makeovers in a day.

Intraoral Autogenous Block Onlay Bone Grafting for ExtensiveReconstruction of Atrophic Maxillary Alveolar Ridges

Intraoral Autogenous Block Onlay Bone Grafting for ExtensiveReconstruction of Atrophic Maxillary Alveolar Ridges
Autologous bone grafting used with dental implants was originally described by Bränemarketal in 1975, and is now a well-accepted procedure in oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation.Placement of an endosseous implant requires sufficient bone volume for complete bone coverage. Furthermore, the pattern of ridge resorption contributes to an unfavorable maxillomandibular relationship, requires angulations of the implants and/or angled abutments, and affects the proximity of adjacent facial concavities(maxillary sinus, nasal cavity) and vital structures(mandibular nerve).

CAD/CAM Anterior Esthetic Implant Restorations: The BellaTek Encode Healing Abutment and CAD-Block Ceramics
Digital design software programs for teeth and implant restorations have evolved over the past 5 years. Using CBCT scans and digital preoperative scans, the clinician can properly plan the placement of implant fixtures. Various software programs and intraoral scanners offer analysis of proper implant position, angle of implant placement, and depth of tissue and occlusal clearance. The utilization of coded healing abutments (BellaTek®, Encode®, Biomet 3i) may also add to the precision of design and calibration of all tissue contacting points of the emerging abutment. This article will introduce and describe a current model for fabrication of ideal abutments, and fabrication of CAD/ CAM restorations for the anterior esthetic zone.
