Evolving Trends in Implant Design

Description:
In this presentation by Dr. Adriano Piattelli, the latest scientific data is presented on some of the most important evolving treds in implant therapy. These include the potential effect of new implant surface microgeometry on immediate load clinical protocols because of effective enhancement of shorter healing time and greater bone to implant contact. In addition, clinical expression of connection design, bacterial seals at those connections and platform switching are topics that are also highlighted.

Dr. Adriano Piattelli DEAR SIR PLEASE DO EXPLAIN WHY MOST BOOKS STILL SAY THAT 16 WEEKS HEALING TIME IS REQUIRED FOR INTEGRATION,NEW CONCEPT SAYS WE CAN LOAD IMMEDIATELY BUT SIR OCCLUSION AND ABNORMAL FORCES HAVE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE IMMEDIATE LOADING. DR FARHAN DURRANI

Peter; You can always PAUSE the lecture and read the slide?
Sam

Some slides were not on the screen for long enough to read. Good lecture but needs slowing down to catch the important points.

You want to hear about real science in implant dentistry then this is the lecture. Amazing stuff. Thank you XP. Sam

Thanks, very scientific excellent presentation. Implant retrievability to evaluatuate for histologically, it must be hard to take permission from ethical committes; ın our country it is almost impossible..

Modern Implant Dentistry: Rules of Engagement in the Esthetic Zone - Part 1 of 2
This presentation will focus on the interdisciplinary relationship of the restorative dentist, periodontist and orthodontist to reconstruct the soft tissue foundation for all of these restorative options in anterior tooth replacement. The diagnosis of deficiencies as well as the varied treatment options will be discussed in detail. This includes periodontal crown lengthening, esthetic periodontal plastic soft tissue grafting procedures as well as prescription adjunctive orthodontic tooth movement to manipulate the soft tissue foundation prior to or subsequent with the restorative options of implants, bridges, or pontic replacement.

Regenerative Procedures for Implant Site Optimization: Establishing the Perio-Implant Interface
Emerging concepts in implant dentistry have allowed bone preservation to become a reality, thus reducing the need for extensive augmentation procedures. Nevertheless, clinicians are still confronted with atrophic defects that require complex regenerative strategies for dental implant rehabilitation. This presentation will focus on some of the essential elements for a predictable regenerative protocol in implant site development. A discussion will include the use of defect topography as a guide in choosing a suitable augmentation technique. Several considerations that allow for tension free wound closure will be reviewed. Furthermore, an evidence based approach in graft material selection will be presented. Clinical cases will then be reviewed, to demonstrate how to integrate the presented principles into daily clinical practice.

Digital Dentistry in the Management of Simple and Complex Cases: The Digital Intra-Scanner
The advent of new technologies has enabled the utilization of new materials and equipment that facilitate the production of restorations with an accuracy that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain reliably. This lecture utilizes patient presentations to help analyze and highlight new systematic clinical protocols that have been developed to optimize the evolving knowledge in digital dentistry and materials. These protocols have allowed us to modify work flow and operational techniques to shorten lead times, while maintaining optimal accuracy. Advantages and disadvantages of the methods outlined will be evaluated and analyzed on the basis of existing literature and personal experience.

The Dual-Zone Therapeutic Concept of Managing Immediate Implant Placement and Provisional Restoration in Anterior Extraction Sockets

The Dual-Zone Therapeutic Concept of Managing Immediate Implant Placement and Provisional Restoration in Anterior Extraction Sockets
Improvements in implant designs have helped advance successful immediate anterior implant placement into fresh extraction sockets. Clinical techniques described in this case enable practitioners to achieve predictable esthetic success using a method that limits the amount of buccal contour change of the extraction site ridge and potentially enhances the thickness of the peri-implant soft tissues coronal to the implant-abutment interface. This approach involves atraumatic tooth removal without flap elevation, and placing a bone graft into the residual gap around an immediate fresh-socket anterior implant with a screw-retained provisional restoration acting as a prosthetic socket seal device.

Nifedipine-induced Gingival Enlargemenr Around Dental Implants
Calcium channel-blocking agents are used extensively for the management of cardiovascular conditions, including angina pectoris, coronary artery spasm, cardiac arrhythmias, and hypertension. Gingival overgrowth around natural teeth has been previously reported in the literature with patients taking calcium channel-blocking agents. This clinical report describes hyperplasia of tissues around titanium dental implants in a patient taking Nifedipine along with the multiphasic approach to treating this…
