Gaining Horizontal and Vertical Bone with Mineralized Bone Particulate, rh-BMP2 and Resorbable Ultrasonic-Applied Rigid Barriers
Description:
While many benefits of rh-BMP2 have been described, there is still a need for further evidence and refinement of the overall application. Further, the use of titanium mesh has been well described, but so has the complications of removal and exposure. Bioresorbable barriers are now available which can be molded into any desired three-dimensional form, creating a rigid and resorbable construct that is secured to the bone using ultrasonic energy. This unique solution has been successfully used to create the proper environment for both large lateral and vertical ridge augmentations for situations previously only treated with block grafting or distraction. Dr. Cummings will share his experience with the material, as well as the key soft tissue techniques that are critical for the success of any large augmentation.

Dr. Salama,
KLS martin also provides longer tack pins which can be used as tenting screws. You are able to then spot weld these tenting screws to the membrane. This really gives it rigidity and allows you to bulk out the barrier in cases where you need the support. In general I tend to use the thicker barrier sheets for better support. I am not sure if the company is still making these though?

Really clear, practical and something I can put into practice immediately.

dr.lewis very nice and innovative technique. i am trying to attend your course in las vegas. can u please tell me where do we purchase these membranes and screws? in india we see lot of such cases and autogenous bone graft is not possible most of the times. your technique is a boon here. thank you for the enlightement.

My compliments Dr. Cummings. Well done. Have you used ever "tenting screws" in addition to Sonic Weld to achieve space for the augmentation? If so which ones?

where do you get your bmp from and how much does it cost? can you do this without the prp and just particulate?

Ridge Splitting and/or GBR - Maxilla vs. Mandible - Part 2 of 2
Mandibular ridge splitting has been a clinical challenge due to high density of cortical bone. Therefore, some clinicians recommends two stage approach to overcome this issue. We will also present a unique ridge splitting technique that is easy to do and predictable using one stage approach.
