Primary stability, as mentioned, is purely mechanical and derived from friction fit, surface micro-geometry, or thread design. Secondary stability is BIOmechanical and represents what we define as "osseointegration". Cumulative stability is the term we assigned to the sum value of the two active processes as measured at any one time. The reason that they're important to conceptualize is that it can help the clinician to choose implant designs and clinical protocols that will ensure that cumulative stability remains at a level capable of achieving osseointegration even in an immediate loaded or provisional restoration.

Digital Dentistry in the Management of Simple and Complex Cases: The Digital Intra-Scanner
The advent of new technologies has enabled the utilization of new materials and equipment that facilitate the production of restorations with an accuracy that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain reliably. This lecture utilizes patient presentations to help analyze and highlight new systematic clinical protocols that have been developed to optimize the evolving knowledge in digital dentistry and materials. These protocols have allowed us to modify work flow and operational techniques to shorten lead times, while maintaining optimal accuracy. Advantages and disadvantages of the methods outlined will be evaluated and analyzed on the basis of existing literature and personal experience.

Placing Dental Implants and/or Natural Tooth Restorations in the Esthetic Zone
A key goal of aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry is the fabrication of maintainable, aesthetic, and functional prostheses that preserve the health of the teeth and soft tissues. Advances in restorative dentistry have significantly improved the clinician’s ability to deliver predictable treatment. When implants are indicated, osseointegration is an added factor that is essential for success. It is universally accepted that implant dentistry is a restorative-driven treatment with a surgical component. Whether…
