Very nice talk. It is rare to see a 5 year follow up. I am interested to know why you did not provisionalize the lateral incisor case you showed? My guess is that it did not achieve ideal torque. Your reasoning for immediate implant placement rather than staging is logical.

Sam Busich - (4/30/2010 2:55 PM)

Tidu; Nice blend of clinical work and scientific literature. I was surprised by the amount of implant exposure you are willing to accept with immediate placement and augmentation. Why not Stage the case? Isn't it safer especially in the esthetic zone. Thanks Sam

Timing of Loading and Effect of Micromotion on Bone

Timing of Loading and Effect of Micromotion on Bone
A significant no-load healing period is the generally accepted prerequisite for osseointegration in dental implantology. The aim of this article was to examine whether this no-load healing period is validated by the experimental literature. In vivo histological data was scrutinized to identify the effect of early loading protocols on the bone-implant interface. Several loading modes were identified. They were categorized into groups according to implant design and the type of prosthetic reconstruction,…
