Minimally Invasive Approaches in Tooth Preparation and Prosthetics: The Role of Magnification

Description:
New technologies in adhesive, ceramic and digital dentistry are constantly shifting the restorative landscape. When it comes to utilizing these new technologies to develop excellence in restorative dentistry, optimizing the visual field is critical. This is true whether a clinician is looking at diagnostic analysis, tooth preparation, provisional fabrication, impression taking or evaluating the final restoration for cementation. This presentation will demonstrate the advantages of utilizing microscopes, both in macro and micro modes, for enhancing restorative dentistry as well as full-mouth rehabilitations. Optimizing the visual field is critical.

Thanks a lot, Raghunandana. Usually I try to position a mirror as far as possible the the zone where Im working, so it stays dry. And magnification helps me still to see all the details even when the mirror is far from the object Im working with.

Raghunandana karantha - (4/6/2015 12:23 AM)

excellent presentation Nazariy mykhalyuk. How do you control or address the issue of water dribbling on mouth mirror during indirect view while preparation of palatal side of anterior and posterior teeth. To me it take quite a lot of time to clean the mirror and go back and look at the prep. regards. Raghunandana

The Role of Occlusion in Implant Prosthetics
In this presentation Dr. Carlo Poggio delves into the biomechanics and clinical relevance of proper occlusal management in implant dentistry. Combining a thorough review of the literature with clinical dental applications, Dr. Poggio attempts to suggest a rational for designing the occlusion for implant restorations. Topics covered include comparison of occlusal management for teeth and implants. In addition, the importance of controlling the occlusal forces to protect the bone-implant interface from overload and the role of occlusion in peri-implant microbial infection.

Back to the Future: Feldspathic Veneers & Zirconia Layering Techniques
Full monolithic zirconia with external stain technique is one of the popular preference techniques used today. There are many selections of multi-layered zirconia disks and blocks available in the market, which enable dental technicians to produce faster and more esthetic results. When it comes to anterior fabrication, however, full monolithic is not always the best option to process the case. There are many varieties; unique translucencies and characterization that can be seen naturally, making it nearly impossible to achieve with just an external stain technique. That is to say, in order to achieve a natural and lifelike fabrication, a layering technique must be done. This lecture will speak about all ceramic layering technique with current technology of digital tools and how these technologies may be able to assist us.
