"The Rise of the Machines" Creating the Digital Dental Team: Man, Materials, and Machines
The new millennium has brought many advances in dental ceramics. None more important than processing techniques using Cad-Cam technology. These technologies have allowed the use of high strength glass ceramics and solid sintered Zirconia based ceramics that could not be used with conventional techniques. Thus, today it is possible to generate any type of indirect dental restoration with a Cad-Cam device. To date, no system has the ability to layer machined substrates to maximize anterior esthetics, which provides an excellent opportunity to use or combine the best of the human world with the best of the machine world to develop world-class anterior esthetics. This presentation will cover, “THE CURRENT POSSIBILITES FOR THE BOUTIQUE DIGITAL DENTAL LAB and IN-OFFICE DIGITAL DENTAL TEAM”, and the clinical and laboratory steps in the process for different types of restorations, along with esthetic enhancements for the use of these ceramics.

3-D Smile Designing with a Functional Touch: The Dental GPS Way
In this esthetic driven era, the responsibility of delivering something that is functionally and esthetically acceptable is of utmost importance. Today , we have something called Dental GPS which is a software that is available both in a clinician version and lab version. It is not only able to help us with the simulation of the proposed results in less than 5 minutes but also able to help us print the diagnostic M lines to help us mount the casts (using a digital facebow) for 2D wax ups and / or 3D virtual wax ups for 3D printed models. This presentation will highlight the usage, simplicity and precision of planning and execution using the 3D smile design software.

Quest for the All Ceramic Restoration

Quest for the All Ceramic Restoration
The all-ceramic, full-coverage restoration has long been the center of the profession's ardent quest for the consummate esthetic restoration. Over the years, we have come to acknowledge the optimal esthetics of the all-porcelain crown, but its tendency to fracture over time rendered it an "alternative" restoration for specifically selected cases when compared to the "workhorse" of porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations. The initial dental feldspathic porcelains exhibited low shear strength with a…
