rhBMP-2 Infuse and Titanium Mesh Utilized for Regeneration of the Posterior Mandible
Description:
In this video, Dr. Salama highlights a regenerative protocol utilizing rhBMP-2/ACS INFUSE and mineralized irradiated allograft bone, Miner-Oss in combination with a prefit titanium mesh and implant placement in the deficient mandibular posterior region. Incision design, intra-marrow penetration and suturing are further discussed.

Wow , really fantastic. In Italy we can compare it to a Caravaggio's portrait or a Balotelli's Goal.

Thanks Maurice. I will definitely be interested in what Dr. Misch has to say about BMP-2 in his webinar this Wednesday. i also see he will be presenting at the Global Symposium in Vegas. I will be there!
Thank you Sam

Kevin; this patient moved back to Brazil months after the procedure? I strongly suggest that you tune in for the webinar by Craig Misch in the coming weeks. He does a great job on this topic.

George; You can order those instruments on this site from Devemed. Go to this link http://www.dentalxp.com/VendorDetails.aspx?id=341
If you have any questions contact Tyler at Tyler@dentalxp.com and he can help you.
The instruments are terrific. Good luck

Where can I get the bone packing and membrane tamping insturment in this video?

Maurice Salama - (4/10/2011 2:03 PM)
Jeffrey & Fernando; Thank you for your comments regarding this case. She lives in Brazil and experienced an exposure of the titanium mesh on the lingual aspect at approximately 4 weeks. She is being restored in her home country and i am attempting to get some of her post op slides as they become available. I am as curious as you are of her results. As an aside I will say that I believe it is imperative to thicken the overlying soft tissues when planning on utilizing titanium mesh.

Gaining Horizontal and Vertical Bone with Mineralized Bone Particulate, rh-BMP2 and Resorbable Ultrasonic-Applied Rigid Barriers
The use of titanium mesh has been well described, but so has the complications of removal and exposure. Bioresorbable barriers are now available which can be molded into any desired three-dimensional form, creating a rigid and resorbable construct that is secured to to the bone using ultrasonic energy. This unique solution has been successfully used to create the proper environment for both large lateral and vertical ridge augmentations for situations previously only treated with block grafting or distraction. Dr. Cummings will share his experience as well as the key soft tissue techniques that are critical for the success of any large augmentation.

Atrophic Posterior Maxillan and Mandible: Alveolar Ridge Reconstruction with Mandibular Block Autografts
Autogenous bone grafts have been used for many years for alveolar ridge augmentation and are still considered to be the gold standard for jaw reconstruction. The use of these grafts with osseointegrated implants was originally discussed by Brånemark et al., who used the iliac crest as the donor site. For repair of most localized alveolar defects, however, bone grafts from the mandible offer advantages over iliac crest grafts. These include the proximity of donor and recipient sites, convenient surgical access, decreased donor site morbidity and decreased cost. This article focuses on posterior maxillary and mandibular osseous augmentation in a staged approach for implant placement. Both horizontal and vertical deficiencies are addressed with the use of symphysis and ramus buccal shelf donor block bone via case presentations.
