Tunneling Technique for Treating Multiple Recession Defects - A Surgical Technique Video
Description:
In this surgical video, Dr. Maurice Salama describes the utilization of the tunneling technique in treating multiple recession defects in a thin tissue environment. Flap management and release as well as instrumentation are described in great detail along with suturing. Harvesting and manipulation of an autogeneous soft tissue graft is also well demonstrated.

Dear dr Salama, thank you for a brilliant presentation. I really like the suturing technique you use on the palate. I've faced postop hemorrhage twice, hope this method will prevent me from this complication in the future. Sincerely, Evelina

Alessandro and Edison; Many thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the interaction with my colleagues and friends. I am doing a Hands-on 2 Day program here in Atlanta at the DentalXP Center March 15-16th for anyone interested in learning about these techniques and instrumentation. regards Dr. Salama

Ali; No, the results would be fine if it was an autologous graft but not so with ACDM allograft or Xenograft tissue graft materials.
thanks Dr. Salama

Bassam and Amer; thanks for the kind words. No, there is no sloughing of the palatial wound. The video shows you just a few days healing and the incision line is simply granulating in. The most important aspect is the instrumentation and technique. Additionally, I am performing more of these procedures today using ACDM materials to avoid a donor site.
Thanks Dr. Salama

Papilla Regeneration in Patients with Gummy Smile
A lost interdental papilla is difficult to regenerate. Only a few successful case reports have been published and there are no studies reporting a predictable technique to reconstruct the papilla. In this presentation we talk about the biological determinants of gingival papilla. We show different clinical cases ranging from simple cases, where papilla preservation techniques are applied, to complex cases of patients with gingival smile where we apply papilla regeneration techniques.

The Basics of Root Coverage Surgery with Acellular Dermal Grafts: A STEP-BY-STEP Live Patient Demonstration
Soft tissue grafting is rapidly playing a larger role in restorative, esthetic, and reconstructive dentistry. While conventional grafting techniques have several limitations, newer grafting materials and techniques make it easier for patients to say "yes" to the treatment they truly need and desire. In this webinar, Dr. Wong will perform a step-by-step demonstration using Perioderm to correct multiple gingival recession defects. Soft tissue allografts are quickly becoming a "game changer" in dentistry, making optimum dentistry more than an ideal... it's a reality.

Use of the Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft to Improve Esthetics
The subepithelial connective tissue graft is a gingival grafting plastic surgery procedure that can be used to enhance the aesthetic and gingival contour of the periodontium around dental implants. This technique is described and illustrated to create a soft-tissue root prominence and mask the grey color penetrating the thin labial attached gingival tissues over dental implants.

Laser Assisted Gingival Tissue Procedures
Soft tissue lasers are increasing in popularity among clinicians in part due to their potential value in preprosthetic gingival procedures. The ability of soft tissue lasers to control moisture and facilitate hemostasis appears particularly promising for clinicians excising gingival tissues, performing esthetic crown lengthening, and using resective techniques for gingival troughing—and these applications will grow as practitioners become more familiar with such technologies. This presentation highlights…

Achieving Predictable Connective Tissue Root Coverage
Gingival recession creates esthetic issues. These issues may be corrected from a restomtive perspective by the placement of composite resin or ceramic over the exposed root. But this approach often results in a gingival-incisal length that does not blend esthetically with tire adjacent teeth. Often accompanying the gingival recession is a decrease in the band of attached gingiva. The wider the band of attached gingiva, the more stabIe the long-term result Therefore, surgical correction of the recession…
