Dean C. Vafiadis, DDS, was born in Montreal, Canada on September 24, 1963. Dr. Vafiadis attended Queens College where he received his B.S. degree in Biology-Psychology, and was active in many organizations. He attended NYU Dental College in 1985, where he received Dean's List status of top 10th percentile in his class. In addition to operative Dentistry honors, clinical awards, and officer of The Hellenic Student Dental Society, he maintained a high average that allowed him to be accepted directly into the Post-Graduate Prosthodontic Program at NYU. This is one of the world's most renown programs that accepts a few residents per year and treat the most extensive and difficult dental problems, while working with some of the "fathers" of dentistry and nationally recognized clinicians. Dr. Vafiadis has published extensively in the field of Implants and Aesthetics. He has been lecturing on scientific programs since 1995. Within his study groups, national and international seminars and implant hands-on work shops he has educated over 2000 dentists and staff over the past 10 years in the field of Dental Implantology. He is currently lecturing for the Continuing Education program at NYUCD, Larry Rosenthal’s Aesthetic Advantage Course for Porcelain Veneers and for Local Dental Districts in USA and Europe. With an ethical and caring philosophy to his practice and with dedication to his profession, he established a private practice of over three thousand active patients. Many of which are Celebrities, Fortune 500 Company executives, Producers, Directors and Writers in the film industry, Executives in the Fashion world and World renown Chefs and Restaurant Owners. He maintains his private practice with three associates in Midtown Manhattan near Rockefeller Center. Dr. Vafiadis primary professional mission is to educate, publish and invent new technologies that will help change the dental profession and patients lives.

Dr. Vafiadis lives in Englewood, NJ with his wife Helen and his children Krystina, Nicholas and Natasha. His Parents live in Clearwater, Florida. His only brother lives in Closter, NJ with their three children. Dean enjoys, running marathons, swimming triathlons, learning tennis, singing, religious studies, traveling, fundraising for charities and cooking parties.

In 2008 Dr. Vafiadis was promoted at NYU as Program Director for the FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION Course that takes place on Friday's. It's clinical hands-on experience for all GP participants. It allows the doctors to treatment plan full mouth rehabilitation cases and document them for future publication. There is a clinical component, lecture component , and an option research portion. This course brings a prosthodontic point of view in the GP's general practice and helps them diagnose and treat Implant Therapies, Aesthetic and Facial issues, and allows long term successful restorations with a sound Occlusion that is stable and healthy. We have a new faculty of prosthodontists, periodontists and general dentists. The course runs from Sept. 2008 - June 2009 . Highlights:

1991 - Dr. Vafiadis graduated as one of the youngest Prosthodontist in New York City, and one out of only eight Greek-American Prosthodontists in New York State.

1995 - Dr. Vafiadis began teaching and lecturing to students and dentists on faculty at NYU PG Prosthodontics and Implant Programs. He also becomes the first Coordinator of the Implant Department at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York.

His community services include treating priests, clergy, foster children, fundraising efforts and volunteering time with dental students. Dr. Vafiadis, is a NYC marathon runner and a Nationwide Triathlon competitor in his spare time.
