Many studies have been published in terms of Orthodontics-Periodontics interface and in this case, I suggest you to move distally the canines by performing IPR until you have room enough for the future implants. Take into consideration not only the implant diameter but also the crown measurments(wax-up). And either grafting prior to ortho movement or after it will depend on how much room you have to perform a predictable bone graft procedure. If you are thinking of grafting prior to the ortho movement it has been shown that 4-6 weeks after your graft procedure you may have a high osteogenic cellular activity on the wound site plus the ortho movement on grafted areas in periodontally compromised patients under healthy periodontal conditions (away from inflammation). And moving teeth away from the area you want to treat is not a contraindication as long as the periodontal status is controlled. In order to step on the right side I suggest you to move the canines distally, once you achieve the right position, perform a block graft or GBR procedure for the laterals and then implant placement with CTG always in esthetic area, especially on thin biotypes.
Good luck!!

| 2012/8/19 13:10:10 | Arthur Podzhigant | | Bone Grafting while orthodontic treatment | | Hello!
Please help me to make a smart decision about bone grafting and orthodontic treatment at the same time. Is it possible to move the canines more distally and to make a bone grafting in 7 and 10 region. Or it is better to make first the orthodontics and after that manipulate with bone defect?on cbct is a situation in N7 region in N10 is similar.
Thank you!
