Course Description:
While hygiene and plaque control can be managed by the patient and their dental team, abnormal occlusal forces applied involuntarily can create an impact that could affect the short and long term stability of the final restoration. Especially in implant dentistry.
The purpose of this presentation is to introduce prosthetic and digital strategies for early identification and management of parafunctional forces that periodically cause dental damage that leads to much more invasive implant related corrective treatments. We will review alternative techniques to create stable solid occlusion designs that will prevent complications of the implant related structures as well as secondary head, neck and TMJ related pain.
