Summary:
A successful implant treatment protocol has evolved as a consequence of the introduction of new concepts into surgical practice. It is well know that success in implant dentistry depends on several parameters that might be improved considering both biologic and mechanical criteria. When surgical techniques are undertaken with careful attention to detail, the invasiveness of the procedure can be limited to the area where bone regeneration is needed.

Implant Site Preparation with Motorized Bone Expanders
The osteotome technique has been utilized for many years as a viable approach to expand atrophic ridges. Despite its effectiveness, the mechanical impact from the surgical mallet is not well tolerated by patients. Additionally, reports in the literature describe postoperative complications that include concussions and benign paroxysmal vertigo. These conditions can be alarming for the patient and clinician, as their effects may persist for several weeks. A new technique for atraumatic ridge expansion…

A Technique for Making Impressions of Deeply Placed Implants
Precise fit between dental implants
and the superstructure is important
for the long term success of implants
and implant-supported prostheses. One factor which may influence the
accuracy of the definitive prosthesis is
the stability of the impression coping
in polymerized impression material.
In some circumstances, an implant
must be placed well below the gingival
margin, meaning that most of the impression
coping will also be situated
subgingivally with no contact with the
impression material. This can result
in reduced stability of the impression
coping, allowing it to rotate when fastening
the implant analog.
This article
describes a simple technique that
involves the use of a roll of composite
resin, tray adhesive, and a small
amount of occlusal registration material
applied around a transfer coping
in a direct implant impression.

Socket -Shielded Implant for Externally Resorbing Canine
This 50yr.+ female showed external/internal resorption of tooth #11. Socket Shield technique was used saving the facial and interproximal of the tooth. Remainder of tooth was removed by vertically sectioning the tooth with surgical burs in 45 degree high-speed handpiece. Implant placed was a 4.6 x 15mm Tapered Plus Biohorizon implant. Mineross was mixed with saved bone and placed in gap areas. An Emax bonded Maryland bridge was then bonded to adjacent teeth for a temporary replacement. The implant, healing collar and graft were covered with PRF. Nine day post op is shown. This case will be closely followed and posted on XP.

A Treatment For The Prevention of Maxillary Edentulism: All On Four For The Maxilla
Since the advent of osseointegration, the patient who is edentulous or soon to be edentulated has many options to prevent wearing complete removable prosthesis. In the maxillary arch there are anatomical features that may preclude patients successfully utilizing an implant prosthesis. Some of these include alveolar resorptive changes after extractions, pnuematized sinuses, hard and soft tissue palatal vault configurations, and bone exostosis with associated undercuts. Psychological, many patients suffer after the loss of teeth with loss of self-esteem and avoidance behaviors.
This program will focus specifically on the diagnostic, surgical, and prosthetic procedures of the All On Four patient. In this webinar, Dr. Duello will build upon the material provided in previous presentations on DentalXP with detailed guidance on clinical procedures for the All On Four in the maxilla.

Current Concepts for the Preservation of the Post-Extraction Alveolar Ridge
Different techniques have been presented in literature in order to preserve the post-extraction site; including the use of barrier membranes, tri-dimensional matrix and bone fillers. An “open-healing” approach is nowadays commonly used, combining a proper management of soft tissues with biological integration of biomaterials. Once hard tissue has been successfully augmented, an adequate soft tissue thickness becomes mandatory in order to create healthy and stable peri-implant tissues. An innovative volume-stable collagen matrix provides the opportunity to treat soft tissue defects around implants as an alternative to connective tissue graft.

Managing Technology for Best Outcomes and Productivity
Digital technology provides tools to improve planning, clinical execution, prosthetic design, manufacturing, maintenance, and cost of care.
Dental professionals need to understand the value of individual technologies as well as the benefit derived from linking them together.
During this presentation, a business model and clinical cases will be used to illustrate how a number of digital technologies can impact outcomes and productivity.
