Summary:
As the practice of dentistry has evolved, significant advances have been realized in the success and predictability of technical procedures, the efficacy of instrumentation, and the means by which information is distributed. Interactive CD-ROMs and videos that guide viewers through selected restorative techn iques are currently being developed as instructional tools for contemporary medical and dental professionals. In conjunction with collegiate universities, pioneering dental operataries have been equipped to create instructional CD-ROMs and videos of live surgeries and to broadcostthese procedures into class rooms, lecture halls, and computer screens worldwide. Through the use of advanced technology, this information can be accessed by any site that possesses an ISDN line, enabling licensed healthcare professionals from around the world to expand their knowledge and technical proficiency.

Oral Pyogenic Granuloma in Pregnancy
An oral pyogenic granuloma can develop immediately following the first trimester of pregnancy. Usually an oral pyogenic granuloma is a slow-growing mass that does not, upon excision, leave a large defect in the periodontium requiring surgical repair. Legal Considerations in the use of Cone Beam Computer Tomography Imaging
Cone beam computed tomography imaging represents a paradigm shift for enhancing diagnosis and treatment planning. Questions regarding cone beam computed tomography’s associated legal responsibility are addressed, including cone beam computed tomography necessity, recognition of pathosis in the scan’s entire volume, adequate training, informed consent and/or refusal and current court status of cone beam computed tomography. Judicious selection and prudent use of cone beam computed tomography technology to protect and promote patient safety and efficacious treatment complies with the standard of care.

Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy: Decision Making in the 21st Century
Non-surgical periodontal therapy is a vital part of everyday dental practice. Since the majority of periodontal therapy is performed by general dentists and dental hygienists, it is critical that clinicians have all of the requisite skills and information needed to perform these services at the highest level possible. The purpose of this presentation is to provide the latest evidence- and practice- based information on periodontal debridement and adjunctive therapies that can improve patient outcomes. Though surgical procedures may still need to be performed in some sites, the majority of inflammatory periodontal disease can be eliminated or reduced significantly using the techniques and protocols discussed in this educational segment on non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Modern dentistry is comprehensive, comprehensive dentistry is interdisciplinary,
interdisciplinary dentistry is facially driven, Facially Driven dentistry starts with Smile Design.

dentistry and the key to improve diagnosis and decision making.
The importance of understanding how to consistently create adequate smile designs in
harmony with faces is underrated in dentistry and the notion that this topic is under control
