Course Overview
This course will discuss what constitutes a mild, moderate, and severe deep bite as well as the various techniques of correcting these Orthodontic challenges. The basics of wire bending will be reviewed and how to use reverse curve wires effectively when treating deep bite cases. The clinical implications of incorporating reverse curve wires into treatment will be explained. How to treat a deep bite in mixed dentition cases with tip back mechanics will also be detailed.
Course Objectives
1. Differentiate between a mild, moderate, and severe deep bite Orthodontic case.
2. Identify when to intrude anterior teeth or extrude posterior teeth when treating a deep bite Orthodontic case.
3. Bend stainless steel reverse curve wires and anticipate the clinical impact that these wires will produce.
