Course Description

Full-arch implant reconstruction demands a series of surgical decisions that can influence the restorative result long before delivery of the final prosthesis. This case-based webinar examines six recurring decision points and the complications they are intended to prevent.

We begin by evaluating when existing alveolar bone should be preserved and when reduction is indicated by restorative needs. We then consider atraumatic extraction strategies and protection of the facial plate, followed by selecting surgical instruments according to the anatomy and task. Dense mandibular bone provides a framework for discussing osteotomy preparation and placement strategy. Next, we explore how the provisional restoration interacts with peri-implant tissue and why the surgical and prosthetic teams must plan that interface together. The lecture concludes with unexpected complications and practical lessons from clinical cases.

Throughout, participants will be encouraged to compare alternatives, recognize key risk factors, and apply a disciplined decision-making process. The focus is on principles and clinical judgment rather than promotion of a particular implant system, device, or treatment philosophy.
