Biography
The connection of Doctor Rogerio Zambonato to dentistry goes all the way back to the cradle. As the son of renowned Brizailian dentist, Jose Alberto De Souza Freitas, known affectionately as Uncle Gastao, Dr. Rogerio Grew up in the corridors of a famous hospital known for treating dentofacial deformities, Centrinho-USP, recognized by the World Health Organization in the area of rehabilitation of facial deformities, founded by Uncle Gastao and other dentists in 1967.
Following in his father's footstaeps and keeping the family tradition, Dr. Rogerio Zambonato studied at the university in Sao Paulo where he went through oral and maxillofacial surgery residence in Centrinho. At the same time he concluded his Masters Degree in oral and maxillo facial surgery at Unesp in Aracatuba and soon after departed brazil to seek more knowledge in the United States.
On American soil, Dr. Zambonato contributed as a guest professor at Northwestern University in Chicago. While at Northwestern university Dr. Zambonato had the pleasure to socialize and follow on of the great Icons of Orthognathic Surgery, Professor Roger Kallal. Soon after, Dr. Zambonato left for Baylor university in Dallas Texas. During this period he worked daily with Dr. Larry Wolford, considered on of the world's most recognized surgeons, developing many of the surgical techniques used even today.
During this program, Dr. Rogerio Zambonato aquired the title of Post-Doctoral Fellowship, finalizing at the age of 26, the youngest dentist to recieve this title.
Returning to Brazil in 1999 and Starting a private practice in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, where he has lived since. Most recently his focus has been on Surgery and Interdisciplinary Treatment and has been invited as a speaker for many meetins in Brazil and Overseas.
