Dr. Rui Coelho started as a DDS, and then specialized in maxillofacial surgery. He has taught dental implantology from 1993 to 1998 in a post-graduate program. Since 2011, Dr. Coelho has dedicated his time to the Industry as a project manager for projects including "Digital stratification of dental crowns", where he helped develop a 5-axes 3D printer to make stratification of dental crowns with composites by 3D printing.

In 2013, Dr. Coelho founded two companies, TailoredImplant and BoneEasy. TailoredImplant develops 3D software for surgeons designing bone grafts. BoneEasy is a bioprinting company that prints implantable medical devices.
