Course Description:

A series of 4 lectures and one video with multiple choice questions designed to stress the importance of the involvement of all disciplines within dentistry when treatment planning in relation to implant dentistry together with a detailed look at present methodologies and technologies used in planning the site of implant placement.

Learning Objectives:

  • To educate on the importance of the multidisciplinary approach to treatment planning.
  • To understand the importance of diagnosis in comprehensive treatment plans.
  • To apply the concepts of the "Triangle of Bone" in implant treatment.

Dr. Amsterdam demosntrates 2 cases, one reflecting 1980's concepts and another one when GTR and implants were viable.
2 Interdisciplinary TX Planning in the Esthetic Zone
The role of the generalist, surgeon, and orthodontist is reviewed and highlighted by Dr. Sonick in this multidisciplinary case report. The importance of gingival cosmetics is a feature of any esthetic plan.
3 Bridges versus Implants- For Patients & Clinicians
Animation provided by Consult Pro reviewning the basic and most common long term problems associated with crown and bridge dentistry in comparison to Dental Implants. Tissue recession, endodontic infection and tooth fracture complications are highlighted with the long term ramifications.
