Course Description:
The management of vertical bone loss has always posed as a challenge to implant dentistry. Various different techniques have been developed to vertically reconstruct the deficient alveolar ridge to allow for proper implant placement. However there is very little consensus as to what constitutes the ideal treatment to repair the deficient ridge. This lecture will review several approaches used for vertical bone augmentation and discuss the benefits and limitations of each. There will be special emphasis on the titanium mesh and interpositional osteotomy techniques.
