3D-Bone Regeneration in the Esthetic Zone: Fundamentals, Indications & Surgical Techniques Step-by-Step
Description:
The implant treatment on the esthetic zone aims healthy, functional and also esthetic results. In order to obtain an esthetic result is mandatory that the implants are placed in optimal 3D position and completely surrounded by healthy bone.
Due to the alveolar ridge destruction caused by trauma and dental or implant infections, often bone availability is not enough to obtain a good esthetic result. In order to treat predictably such cases there are surgical techniques that allow a complete 3D reconstruction of the alveolar ridge.
Of all those techniques described to regenerate 3D bone defects (with vertical and horizontal components) there are two that are more supported by scientific literature: Guided Bone Regeneration using PTFE non-resorbable membranes and ultra-fine cortical bone blocks (Khoury´s technique).
After a certain healing period, implants can be placed in 3D optimal position.
However, if an optimal esthetic result is searched, periodontal plastic techniques have to be also performed. All these topics will be addressed in this lecture presentation.

Autologous Block Grafting in Ridge Augmentation
This presentation discusses the step-by-step approach for harvesting, shaping and stabilizing autologous bone blocks in ridge augmentation. In addition, several variations of the technique will be compared, including Dr. Fouad Khoury technique as well as that of Dr. Alberto Fernández. The critical keys for successful block graft are also discussed. The featured case was treated on Campos Clinicae School of Implantology in Vigo, Spain.

Combination Approach to Site Development: Autologous Tissue
The ideal grafting material should be biocompatible, biodegradable, easy handling, cost-effective, minimize inflammation and foreign body reaction, not transmit diseases and assure a long-term restoration and preservation of the alveolar ridge. Is there any better scenario to prove the grafting material properties than the worst scenario in esthetic implant dentistry: central-lateral, site by site? In this lecture, the combination approach to the site preservation and development utilizing exclusively autologous tissues is explained, based on the available literature and presenter´s experience and shown on numerous central-lateral cases.

Biologic Strategies to Enhance Clinical and Aesthetic Success in Oral Implantology
This webinar will discuss clinical strategies for treatment of the complex implant site involving bone grafting and implant placement. Our understanding of cellular pathways, and our ability to control the wound response, expands our capacity to effect better aesthetic outcomes and compress treatment time. The reduction of the inflammatory phase of tissue regeneration speeds up osseointegration, prevents crestal bone loss, maintains papillary form, increases the density of peri-implant bone and increases tissue biotype. This enhanced tissue response allows us to predictably treat even the most complex surgical cases, compress time to final reconstruction, and to maintain these favorable tissue outcomes over an extended period of time. The use of dental implants with advanced biologic features and the incorporation autologous growth factors will be demonstrated.

The Use of SonicWeld® Ultrasonically Fabricated Barriers for Enhanced Outcomes in Guided Bone Regeneration
KLS Martin has developed a unique bioresorbable guided bone regeneration barrier which can be molded into any desired three-dimensional form. Using a combination of thermoplastic and ultrasonic energies, these barriers have been successfully used to create the proper environment for both large lateral and vertical ridge augmentations for situations previously only treated with block grafting or distraction. This course will outline the basic science, clinical techniques and outcomes of the SonicWeld technique.

Site Preparation & Osseodensification in Bone Management
Today's implant arena involves not only the understanding of procedures but also the science behind wound healing.
Often new technologies and instrumentation evolves that have a significant impact on what we are able to do clinically. Piezosurgical devices, periotomes, osteotomes, hydraulic sinus devices, neurosurgical drills, and the "PET" (Partial Extraction Therapies) system are just a short list of those that have made surgery more efficient and less traumatic for our patients. Osseodensification is another concept that can be added to this long list. This lecture will speak about new age bone management concepts and how these technologies may be able to assist us. Potential issues and focus on use will be touched upon as well.

Atrophic Posterior Maxillan and Mandible: Alveolar Ridge Reconstruction with Mandibular Block Autografts
Autogenous bone grafts have been used for many years for alveolar ridge augmentation and are still considered to be the gold standard for jaw reconstruction. The use of these grafts with osseointegrated implants was originally discussed by Brånemark et al., who used the iliac crest as the donor site. For repair of most localized alveolar defects, however, bone grafts from the mandible offer advantages over iliac crest grafts. These include the proximity of donor and recipient sites, convenient surgical access, decreased donor site morbidity and decreased cost. This article focuses on posterior maxillary and mandibular osseous augmentation in a staged approach for implant placement. Both horizontal and vertical deficiencies are addressed with the use of symphysis and ramus buccal shelf donor block bone via case presentations.

Alloplastic Bone Substitutes Around Dental Implants
The repair of osseous defects has been a goal in dentistry for many decades. Subsequently, within the last several years, there has been an emergence of a new class of materials in dentistry referred to as synthetic bone. Finding the ideal bone substitute material has been the goal of researchers for many years. In attempting to achieve this ideal material, dental practitioners have tried with varying degrees of success: autogenous and demineralized freeze-dried bone, allografts of plastic, carbon…
