Customized 3D Treatment Planning Concepts - Matching Receptor Sites with Specific Implant Designs - Part 2 of 2
Description:
This presentation will cover detailed concepts of diagnosis and treatment planning using state-of-the-art 3-D imaging modalities for the purpose of customizing therapy based on individual implant receptor sites. In addition, specific suggestions on incorporating new and innovative design features into your treatment design to achieve higher degrees of esthetic success as well as ease of use in the surgical or prosthetic phase will be discussed. These will include new surface treatments such as the implant micro-geometry, Laser-Lok microchannels, narrow diameter implants, as well as when to use straight vs. tapered implant designs.

hi Dr.Ganz,
thank you for very professional presentation.you show the connective tissue adherence to the micro-lock surface, although
Dr.Tarnow states that bone "likes" rough surface, while soft tissue likes smooth, polished one.Your comments, please.
thank you, Alex.

Sam Busich - (1/8/2011 9:17 AM)
I really enjoyed the visual aspects of the presentation by Dr. Ganz. Often, in cases with severe swings in Bone density I find the 3D images less accurate? Is this due to the "tolerances" set in the software.
You did not seem to have this problem.
thanks Sam

Partial Extraction Therapies: Science & Research Behind The Concept
The partial extraction therapies (PET) date all the way back to the 1970’s when the submerging of tooth roots aimed to preserve the alveolar ridge beneath full dentures. Today, the full scope of PET includes several, evidence-based techniques, that use the patient’s own tissues to prevent post-extraction ridge resorption. This lecture outlines a timeline of the research milestones that have occurred, past to present, that have established PET in our treatment milieu as we know it today.

Bone Graft Solutions in the Treatment of a Defective & Deficient Ridges; Advantages of Combined Therapy
More patients are treated with implants than ever before. Unfortunately, many have insufficient bone available to support an implant prosthesis. This presentation describes the utilization of several different augmentation approaches for the severely resorbed ridge and dentally handicapped fully endentulous patient. Current concepts related to autogenous bone harvest, 3D bone augmentation combined with blood born bioactive modifiers and digital planning are defined. Video and high resolution images are utilized to further describe these approaches.

Current Concepts in Bioactivity and Regeneration
In this lecture, tips on how to deal with the different types of extraction socket, mostly infected, will be presented. The use of plasma rich in growth factors and the Endoret® (PRGF®) fibrin membrane is a key factor to enhance socket regeneration, post-operative recovery and minimize/treat complications.

Total Rehabilitation of the Edentulous Patient with the All-on-4® treatment concept
A fixed implant supported prosthesis is the ideal treatment option for the edentulous patient and those facing the imminent loss of their remaining dentition. Through innovation, along with continuous clinical and scientific research, it has become possible to treat virtually every edentulous case with a highly functional and esthetic fixed solution. The oral rehabilitation of these patients has two stages: surgical and prosthetic.

Contaminated Implants Raise Global Concern Among Dentists
There is a problem that many implantologists are not
aware of: recent analyses of dental implants using scanning
electron microscopy indicate that an alarming number
of sterile-packaged implants are contaminated. The authors assumed that either foreign particles had found their way into the osseous
bed during the implant placement procedure or the
implant material itself was contaminated.
