The Esthetic Reconstructive TRIAD: "GBR, GTR and Tissue Molding"
Description:
Implant dentistry in the esthetic zone is highly challenging. In recent years
there are several studies, well defined approaches available on how to achieve
pleasing outcomes. We must understand the biology of extraction sites and different
treatment options for preserving or even reconstructing bony structures for
predictable implant placement. This clinical and evidence based presentation will
emphasize the importance of proper 3-dimensional implant placement, show different
bone preservation techniques i.e P.E.T. (Partial Extraction Therapy) and how soft
tissue grafting can effect the final end result.
However we must admit that not only surgery but prosthetic skills have a major
influence on our work. Implant placement must be determined with the prosthetic
plan in mind! On the other hand abutment design, platform shifting concept as tissue
molding “tools” and screw retained solutions will be high-lighted with lots of case
presentations.

Dear Dr. Bodrogi you are mentioned "2-4 mm distance between the implant surface and buccal plate". Could you please clarify it? Do you mean buccal mucosal surface or buccal bone surface? Does the thickness of the buccal bone plate has to be 2-4 mm?

Dear Dr. Bodrogi,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and outstanding clinical outcomes. Your handling of soft tissues are philosophically consistent with Dr. Branemark's statement. Could you comment on cases that you did before you started using PET and cases that you have done with PET? Do you believe or does your clinical outcomes appear to be better since using PET?

Antimicrobial Effect of a Single Dose of Amoxicillin on the Oral Microbiota
Amoxicillin is commonly used in oral surgery for antimicrobial prophylaxis against surgical-site infection and
bacteremia because of its effect on oral streptococci. The aim of this study was to determine whether amoxicillin reaches
the break-point concentrations in saliva and has any effect on the salivary microbiota, colonizing bacteria on mucosal
membranes and on the gingival crevice after a single dose of amoxicillin. A single dose given as prophylaxis to prevent a surgical-site infection results in a significant reducing effect on
the oral streptococcal microflora in the gingival crevice and may have an impact on bacteria spreading into tissues and the
bacteria of streptococci.
