Facial Rejuvenation: Using Botox & Fillers as Support of the Oral Rehabilitation & Lips Enhancement

Description:
~ In general the population have been associating the use of Botox & Fillers just as an aesthetic treatment on the derm to avoid wrinkles of aging. It is very important to understand that the Onabotulinum toxin A will take effect in the muscular plane, not in the epiderm and neither in the derm, its actuation is to block the release of a neurotransmitter necessary for muscles contraction. The result will be the inhibition of undesirable movements and reduction of strength and potency on the muscles, what can help on the treatment of parafunctional disorders and also improve the conditions for immediate loading in implant dentistry. The Dental losses, alveolar ridge atrophies and loss of vertical dimension contribute significantly to the aging process of the face and the perioral region, so it is essential for dentists to have the knowledge of the use of fillers in association with oral rehabilitation, improving the aesthetics and self-esteem of their patients.

Do you have any experience using injectable fillers to fill under a pontic area to prevent air escape?

Victoria Selivestru - (5/21/2019 3:47 PM)

Nice cases! thank you !

Christine Heng - (3/28/2019 4:14 PM)

Thank you for the interesting lecture! Two questions: 1. Do you aspirate before injection (to ensure that you do not inject into the blood vessels)? Is it possible to aspirate with a loaded syringe (loaded with the hyaluronic acid)? 2. Does your needle go deeper when injecting into the lips compared to when injecting into nasolabial folds. Appreciate your opinion.

Occlusion - What Else?
Occlusion-Confusion, most of the dentist feel this way. Occlusion is one of the most important part of dentistry but also the most controversy. The balance and the restore of function of the stomatognathic system is often an everyday challenge during most dental treatments. For these two distinct reasons the dentist needs to study and fully understand the normal function of the TMJoints, understand how the mandible rests against the cranium in a most favourable position, and of course how occlusion and any dental prosthetic restorations should be adjusted without jeopardising the stability of the stomatognathic system.

Multitasking Digital Dentistry - Part 1 of 2
The "Digital Smile Design" is a technique codified and published in 2011 by Christian Coachman and Marcelo Calamita. This approach has radically changed the way we analyze the aesthetics of our patients and at the same time gave the clinician a great tool of communication with the laboratory and with the patient. In recent years, softwares and applications have been introduced on the market in order to simplify the workflow and make more predictable the outcome. The purpose of the lecture is to resume the current concepts about digital aesthetic preview, and to show new trends.

The Role of Digital Technologies & Materials for Full-Arch Implant Reconstruction Premium Member Content

The Role of Digital Technologies & Materials for Full-Arch Implant Reconstruction
In prosthetic rehabilitations, we used for many years codified and widely described protocols in literature, with results that met our expectations and well above those of our patients. It is true that the advent of new technologies has enabled the dental team to use new material and new equipment that facilitated the production of an adaptation and an accuracy of the prosthetic rehabilitation that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain. In this presentation, we will analyze different cases, highlighting the operational differences that they have developed over time, with the increasing knowledge of the new materials and the daily developing of the new software's. It is also described how traditional materials and techniques have been replaced with other innovative new technologies, and how the results obtained with these are systematic and significantly better in updated generations prior.

Prosthodontic treatment ofthe edentulous cleft palate patient presents the dentist with numerous challenges for achieving a satisfactory result for the patient. A technique is described for prosthodontic rehabilitation of a completely edentulous cleft palate patient using bone augmentation procedures, root-form dental implants, and a removable maxillofacial prosthesis. Dental implants may improve prosthesis retention, stability, and occlusal function when used in carefully selected cases.
