With advent of advanced augmentation procedures has come an increase in risk and morbidity to our patients and complications and failures for the clinician-surgeon. This presentation highlights a less invasive alternative to classic regenerative grafting techniques which include shorter, wider, narrower implants as well as bone expansion and splitting to minimize surgical risk and patient morbidity. Sinus management and crestal approaches will also be discussed.

Hydraulics and Densification in Sinus & Ridge Management
Majority of the cases in the maxilla require some form of sinus grafting or procedures to increase ridge width. Innovations in the field of site preparation using Osseodensification principles and use of Hydraulics for sinus elevations have simplified the procedure of gaining bone volume in such clinical situations. Newer tools and materials have enabled clinicians to offer a minimally invasive transalveolar approach to sinus grafting compared to the lateral window approach. Densification drills have provided the clinicians a solution to optimize and expand the site for implant placement. This presentation will analyze various clinical situations needing ridge and sinus augmentation and provide predictable solutions to achieve high success rates.

Introducing Choukroun’s Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) to the Reconstructive Surgery Milieu
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), developed in France by Choukroun et al (2001), is a second generation platelet concentrate widely used to accelerate soft and hard tissue healing. Its advantages over the better known platelet-rich plasma (PRP) include ease of preparation/application, minimal expense, and lack of biochemical modification (no bovine thrombin or anticoagulant is required). PRF is a strictly autologous fibrin matrix containing a large quantity of platelet and leukocyte cytokines. This article serves as an introduction to the PRF “concept” and its potential clinical applications.

Crestal Bone Changes Around Implants With Reduced Abutment Diameter Placed Non-Submerged and at Subcrestal Positions: A 1-Year Radiographic Evaluation
There is limited information about two-part implants placed in subcrestal positions. The present study reported a minimal loss of mineralized hard tissue around dental implants placed non-submerged and at subcrestal positions. In addition, these implants had hard tissue healing that extended onto the implant shoulders on most of the observed implants.
