Implants in the Esthetic Zone: A Prosthodontics Approach to a Periodontics Challenge
Description:
Edentulism in the anterior sector of the maxillary arch may represent a complex situation for the restorative treatment. Due to the esthetic importance of this area of the mouth, it is imperative that we have a complete harmony between soft tissues, bone and teeth. In situations where dentition has been missing for a many years, bone and soft tissue loss can make the restorative treatment more complex. When diagnosing and treatment planning a patient with such problems; it is important to analyze all probable treatment options. Interdisciplinary treatment planning, will help achieve success when dealing with cases like these. This is why adequate communication between, the surgeon and restorative dentist is imperative.

Dear Yaarob, The provisional on that case was a maryland bridge during the osseointegration and grafting periods, then a screw retained crown with a cantilever was made to tart working a little with the tissues. thank you for your comment! Jonathan

Amazing lecture
Question:
What was the provisional, in jenny's case (missing central and lateral incisor)? Removable denture or what?

Thank you Dr. Aronna!.... thank you for the input on the CTG technique, I did not personally do the procedure myself but it is great to know and understand why it did not mature the adequate way! I really appreciate it!... I temporized the case for a period of 6 months, and tried to mold my soft tissues as much as I could. especially in the embrasure areas... the cementation was done with resin cement, making sure we had as little excess as possible, using the cementation technique shown in the presentation.
thank you :)
Jonathan

Real Time / Dynamic Guided Surgery in Fully Edentulous Patients
Implant treatment is one of the most exciting areas of dental therapy. Within the last 30 years, we have been able to develop and discover new techniques, instruments, software and equipment that have made this therapy more secure and predictable, such as the CBCT and the guided surgery, today with the guided systems we are able to have our implants “in the right” place considering the bone, the prosthesis, the biomechanics, and the esthetics.
This lecture will show you step-by-step how guided surgery has evolved in dentistry today and we can achieve more predictable results even with immediate extraction and immediate implant placement.

"The Great Debate" on Tooth Replacement
Bucco-palatal collapse of the post-extraction ridge is a significant challenge in restorative and implant dentistry. A variety of different approaches as well as ridge preservation techniques using tissue and augmentative materials have been proposed in this session with some of the leading clinical research teams in the field. A conceptual debate format discussing the virtues of "Early Placement" at 6 weeks (Buser & Belser Team) vs. "Immediate Placement with Dual Zone Protocols" at time of extraction (Chu & Tarnow Team) vs. "Partial Extraction Therapy" PET (Gluckman & Salama) also at the time of extraction is led by Professor Homa Zadeh of USC. This interactive session explores the current status and poses questions for the future use and indications of each proposed therapy.

Prosthetic Soft Tissue Development From Single to Full Arch Reconstruction
In addition to surgical intervention is the creation of the specific emergence profile that is essential in the aesthetic zone. The emergence profile composed of 2 parts, the abutment and the subgingival part of the crown. The shape of abutment can be individually shaped so that it gives natural appearance and varies individually (depending on the depth, angulation and diameter of the implant). Sometimes it even dictates the implant position. From a surgical perspective, soft tissue height, position and thickness need to be diagnosed and corrected when needed. From the prosthetic point of view, the emergence profile has to be created to mimic the natural appearance and maintained over time in respect to the biological changes. The course teaches step by step how to be successful with implant prosthetics from single tooth, partially edentulous to full arch reconstruction.

Digital Dentistry in the Management of Simple and Complex Cases: The Digital Intra-Scanner
The advent of new technologies has enabled the utilization of new materials and equipment that facilitate the production of restorations with an accuracy that has, up to now, been difficult to obtain reliably. This lecture utilizes patient presentations to help analyze and highlight new systematic clinical protocols that have been developed to optimize the evolving knowledge in digital dentistry and materials.
These protocols have allowed us to modify work flow and operational techniques to shorten lead times, while maintaining optimal accuracy. Advantages and disadvantages of the methods outlined will be evaluated and analyzed on the basis of existing literature and personal experience.

Linear Tomography in Conjuction with Pantomography in Implant Assessmnet Sites
Tomography provides a three-dimensional unobstructed and anatomically accurate picture of the region being viewed. Tomography is a radiographic technique in which a "slice" or section of a given internal body structure is imaged in a pre-determined plane. The advantage of utilizing a tomographic evaluation along with a pan tomographic survey is that the clinician may examine the exact position or depth in all three planes of visualization. This radiographic modality can also reveal the quality and…

Aesthetic Enhancement of Anterior Dental Implants with the Use of Tapered Osteotomes and Soft Tissue Manipulation
As osseointegration of endosseous dental implants has become predictable and well-documented, the emphasis in dental- implant treatment has shifted from functional concerns to the achievement of long-term aesthetic results. An adequate alveolar bone base is the prerequisite for functional and aesthetically optimal reconstruction of the soft-tissue architecture. This is true for both fixed partial denture (FPD) pontic sites and dental implant sites. In patients with sufficient bone height but insufficient bone…
