Description:
Immediate implant placement in fresh extraction sockets offers several advantages which include patient comfort, ridge preservation as well as decreased treatment time. Prior to undertaking this therapeutic path, however, clinicians must consider several critical factors that become apparent in a thorough diagnostic protocol. These include socket morphology, apical pathology, deficiencies in the labial plate of bone if applicable as well as biotype. This presentation will highlight the potential complications that can occur during immediate implant placement as well as their clinical management.

Hello I have a case where I extracted #29 easily and placed an immediate implant. I had placed the patient on PEN V/K 500mg 3xday post surgery and they came back to me 3 days later with pressure type pain and localized swelling in the buccal vestibule next to the implant. I changed the antibiotic to Augmentin. I place many implants but more recently started placing immediate if I felt the socket was intact etc. and have not seen this before. any thoughts

What Tissue Changes Can We Expect with Anterior Implant Therapy?
Minimizing soft tissue changes following anterior implant therapy is one of the holy grails in implant dentistry. Gingival recession will not only impact the patient’s esthetics, the difficulties in correcting such problem create further challenges to the clinicians. This presentation will focus on how much soft tissue changes can be expected following implant in the esthetic zone. Discussion will be made as to the etiology of gingival recession and what we can do to prevent it from happening.

A Treatment For The Prevention of Mandible Edentulism: All On Four For The Mandible
Mandibular edentulous patients can be some of the most difficult prosthetic patients to treat successfully. Treatment options for the mandibular arch range from two implants and an overdenture to multiple implants with full arch fixed style prosthesis. This webinar will focus specifically on the diagnostic, surgical, and prosthetic procedures utilizing four implants and a screw retained fixed prosthesis in the mandible, the All On Four technique. In this webinar, Dr. Duello will build upon the material provided in previous presentations on DentalXP with detailed guidance on clinical procedures for the All On Four in the mandible.

Prosthodontics, Periodontics & Orthodontics: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Implant Dentistry
Many aspects of various dental disciplines must be integrated to constitute a sound total approach to implant dentistry. Aside from the surgical elements - encompassing implant placement, position, angulation, and length - the creation of appropriate spaces to accommodate the three-dimensional final prostheses may require use of orthodontic techniques as well. And establishing and maintaining a sound periodontal environment is essential to implant integrity, from the outset of placement to finalization of the prosthetic suprastructure.

Does residual cement around implant-supported restorations cause peri-implant disease? A retrospective case analysis
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between patients with a history of periodontitis and development of cement-related peri-implant disease. Seventy-seven patients with 129 implants for this retrospective analysis were selected from completed implant cases that were scheduled for regular maintenance or had experienced mechanical or biological complications between years 2006 and 2011 in private practice. Implants with extracoronal residual cement and implants without cement remnants were analyzed.
