Técnicas Modernas de Aumento Óseo: Un sitio donante alterno
Description:

A good question Mo. The bone is very stable as long as you have the minimum 2mm that is needed. I have also changed my technique a little in that I use the thin plates with autogenous bone chips harvested with the safe scraper. this means that you have a better vascularity of the bone which is more stable long term.

Howard; This is great stuff. Thoughts on this bone vs. other intra-oral sites when reviewing them AFTER Loading 1-2 years out?

@ George Mcqeen. In the majority of the cases there is little or no loss of sensation of the anterior palate. THe only loss one gets is a slight tingling sensation of the incisive papillae. The majority of patients get used to this very quickly. With regards to haematoma inthe 200 or more cases we have done of this type of harvesting we have never experienced this at all. THe only time you get any bleeding is from the cutting of the palatal soft tissue with anterior releases. I have not had any issues with bone bleeds at all and all those who have done this technique since have shared the same experience. Perhaps the removal of the canines leaves a large hole in the palate which the removal of a bone block does not. Also to the best of my knowledge and in searching my anatomy books there is no anterior palatal artery that runs in the bone the only palatal aretry is the greater and lesser palatine arteries and neither is in the bone but rather runs in the palate within a canal and the nasopalatine duct. But I agree the palatal coverage is always good as it helps apply pressure to the area.

@CHUCK. Thanks for the kinds words However there is nothing dangerous if it is well treatment planned and you use the correct tools. Keep well

Bio-Surgery; Tips for More Biological and Prosthodontic Approach
In oral rehabilitation, obtaining a good aesthetic outcome is no longer enough for our patients. It is imperative that these good results do prevail in time. The best way to achieve this goal, is to
correctly diagnose each individual clinical case, and to choose Biological tools and Biological treatment techniques, that respect our own physiology and Nature.
Through this lecture, the authors try to share a few Surgical and Prosthodontic Bio-tips in Implant Dentistry, that in a simple and predictable way, can lead us to a great long lasting aesthetic results.

The Dual Zone Approach to Tooth Replacement in the Esthetic Zone
Improvements in implant designs have helped advance successful immediate anterior implant placement into fresh extraction sockets. Clinical techniques described in this presentation will enable practitioners to achieve predictable esthetic success using a method that limits the amount of buccal contour change of the extraction site ridge and potentially enhances the thickness of the peri-implant soft tissues coronal to the implant-abutment interface. This approach involves atraumatic tooth removal without flap elevation, and placing a bone graft into the residual gap around an immediate fresh-socket anterior implant with a screw-retained provisional restoration acting as a prosthetic socket seal device. Long term follow up and evidence from scientific literature to support this concept will be described.

Ridge Expansion, GBR & Meshes: Decision Making in Clinical Practice
A variety of bone augmentation procedures are currently available at use to the clinician. Techniques of variable complexity can essentially yield favorable results.
The choice of technique to utilize however, is often based on defect site presentation and operator comfort level. This presentation will focus on the use of ridge expansion, guided bone regeneration (GBR), and titanium mesh. Merits and indications of each technique will be discussed, and clinical cases will be presented that showcase the decision making process involved in treatment planning.

A Fixed Whole-Mouth Rehabilitation Utilizing Natural Abutments and Implants: Treatment Concepts and Clinical Realization
A 45-year-old female patient presented to the clinic with a request to treat her deteriorating dentition that had been reconstructed 15 years ago with fixed restorations. Clinical examination revealed fixed partial dentures cemented to natural abutments in the maxilla, whereas telescopic restorations were cemented to natural abutments bilaterally in the mandible. The treatment plan included a whole-mouth rehabilitation utilizing natural teeth and implants. As the patient declined any surgical augmentation…

Intraoral Autogenous Block Onlay Bone Grafting for ExtensiveReconstruction of Atrophic Maxillary Alveolar Ridges
Autologous bone grafting used with dental implants was originally described by Bränemarketal in 1975, and is now a well-accepted procedure in oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation.Placement of an endosseous implant requires sufficient bone volume for complete bone coverage. Furthermore, the pattern of ridge resorption contributes to an unfavorable maxillomandibular relationship, requires angulations of the implants and/or angled abutments, and affects the proximity of adjacent facial concavities(maxillary sinus, nasal cavity) and vital structures(mandibular nerve).
