The New Generation of Veneer Preparation - Part 1
Description:
Tooth preparation; decision making represents the very basis accelerating, simplifying the veneer process today. Veneer preparation has evolved to a new third generation approach determined by the desire outcome, but facilitated by new materials products technique.
Fortunately, these developments in ceramics and dental adhesives have combined synergistically to deliver more conservative restorations that are with greater ease and predictability. This fine session will focus on accelerated, simplified, conservative approaches to veneer preparations.

Multitasking Digital Dentistry - Part 1 of 2
The "Digital Smile Design" is a technique codified and published in 2011 by Christian Coachman and Marcelo Calamita. This approach has radically changed the way we analyze the aesthetics of our patients and at the same time gave the clinician a great tool of communication with the laboratory and with the patient. In recent years, softwares and applications have been introduced on the market in order to simplify the workflow and make more predictable the outcome. The purpose of the lecture is to resume the current concepts about digital aesthetic preview, and to show new trends.

Demystify The Gingival Restorative Interface in Oral Rehabilitation
Pink esthetic therapy often can encompass single and multiple tooth loss clinical scenarios. The decision-making process of when and how to use interdisciplinary therapy to address a failing single tooth as well as loss of attachment around teeth adjacent to the natural dentition, an implant, or an edentulous ridge can be daunting. A presentation of existing pink determinants that define esthetic outcomes will be outlined in addition to the use of single tooth implants, orthodontic extrusion, and pink ceramics in therapy.

The Single Anterior Crown and Minimalistic Veneers
Still in 2013 the single anterior tooth and minimal and no-preparation veneers remain a challenge for both dentist and ceramist. There are many clinical and laboratory variables that need to be planned and dealt with to be successful esthetically, biologically and mechanically. This presentation will cover the clinical and laboratory techniques for the single anterior restoration and minimalistic veneering of anterior natural teeth (called the “Mini”).

Innovative Sequencing for Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Treatment
Smile enhancement therapy has become an important facet of the everyday aesthetic practice. Aesthetic evaluation utilizing facial aesthetic design to diagnose tooth position demands effective communication between the periodontal-restorative team.
This presentation will review innovative sequencing techniques for interdisciplinary cases which require aesthetic crown lengthening for the treatment of excessive gingival display, and for gingival augmentation for root coverage, and the correction of poor gingival quality. Immediate implant placement with immediate non–loaded provisional fabrication will also be reviewed.

Back to the Future: Feldspathic Veneers & Zirconia Layering Techniques
Full monolithic zirconia with external stain technique is one of the popular preference techniques used today. There are many selections of multi-layered zirconia disks and blocks available in the market, which enable dental technicians to produce faster and more esthetic results. When it comes to anterior fabrication, however, full monolithic is not always the best option to process the case. There are many varieties; unique translucencies and characterization that can be seen naturally, making it nearly impossible to achieve with just an external stain technique. That is to say, in order to achieve a natural and lifelike fabrication, a layering technique must be done. This lecture will speak about all ceramic layering technique with current technology of digital tools and how these technologies may be able to assist us.

The "Hybrid Abutment": A New Design for Implant Cemented Restorations in the Esthetic Zones
Cemented implant restorations are widely used by many dentists. The traditional abutment design resembles a natural tooth prepared for a crown with a similar taper and a chamfer finish line. A frequent complication associated with implant restorations in the esthetic zones is the recession of buccal gingiva over time. Abutment morphology, among several other prosthetic factors, may play an important role in the stability of gingival margin in esthetically sensitive areas, but this has never been thoroughly analyzed. With many considerations in mind and recent techniques released, this article proposes the "hybrid abutment: design (HAD), a new design that includes a combination of the two types of features - a feather edge on the buccal side, and a chamfer finish line on the lingual side. This article also presents a rationale for the use of different abutment designs for different situations.
