just watched the video and can tell you this has been an extremely valuable adjunct to practice and allows clinicians the ability to make some tooth movements previously thought to be too time consuming .complex and unpredictable - - just great information that we need to be aware of and share with our referral specialist and vise versa

Hi Milton, in fact some of the screws do not osseointegrate but provide "some" additional anchorage strictly through mechanical resistance or what we call primary stabilty. Many screws do integrate and provide absolute anchorage , however, and they do so for the same reasons that immediately loaded implants osseointegrate. Their interafce with the bone is not overwhelmed with excessive micromovement. If the initial orthodontic forces are light and unidirectional, NOT ROCKING TYPE, the implants will have a chance to osseointegrate and develop secondary stability.

why do the implant screws hold if they have immediate loading?

Adjunctive Orthodontics in Preparing the Implant Patient
This presentation is a review of the orthodontically related concepts that should be routinely incorporated in examining a potential implant patient and developing a treatment plan. Specifically, an emphasis is placed on the adjunctive orthodontics that a general dentist can perform to better manage their patients. Topics to be covered will include, space closure, unraveling anterior crowded teeth, extrusion, rotation and tipping movements.

An Orthodontist's Guide to Prescribing Conventional 2D and 3D CBCT Radiographs
Radiographic diagnosis is an important part of orthodontic treatment planning. 3D conebeam CT (CBCT) has advanced orthodontic care for many patients; however, it has not supplanted conventional two-dimensional radiographs which, when comparing equal levels of radiation, offer superior image quality. This Webinar explains when CBCT is indicated with/in place of 2D radiography and how to prescribe 2D and/or 3D x-ray on a patient-specific basis, thereby conforming to Federal guidelines mandating radiation levels 'as low as reasonably achievable' -- especially with regard to younger patients.

Adjunctive Role of Orthodontic Therapy
Orthodontic tooth movement may be a substantial benefit to the adult periorestorative patient. Many adults who seek routine restorative dentistry have problems with tooth malposition that compromise their ability to clean and maintain their dentitions. If these individuals also are susceptible to periodontal disease, tooth malposition may be an exacerbating factor that could cause premature loss of specific teeth. Orthodontic appliances have become smaller, less noticeable, and easier to maintain…

Adjunctive Orchestrated Orthodontic Therapy
The altruistic goal of any cosmetic dental rehabilitation is the re-establishment of a healthy maintainable aesthetic functional interface from an otherwise damaged dentition. To this end, a multi-disciplinary treatment plan is necessary to fulfill the periodontal, orthodontic, maxillofacial and cosmetic requirements for a healthy, stable dentition that has a favorable long-term prognosis. This comprehensive treatment approach strives for the constituent components of the dentition to have a proper…
