Platelet Rich Fibrin - PRF - 2nd Generation of Platelet Rich Concentrates
Description:
In this very technical and scientific presentation, Dr. Joseph Choukroun, a physician and researcher from France, describes the benefits of Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) in wound healing. Thank you for your presentation. I look forward to seeing you October 19th in Atlanta during your presentation there. One question I have is the handling of the Fibrin membrane for a ridge augmentation for vertical height. Can the autograft PRF membrane be left partially exposed when used to cover particulate allograft bone or do the same rules apply for complete non tension tissue flap apposition as they do for all other types of allograft membranes? Will exposure of the PRF fibrin membrane lead to a dihessiance or the potential for increase infection and loss of allograft like that of other allograft membranes left exposed? Thanks- Mark

Bonjour Dr. Choukroun; two very informative videos. I have used PRP and got some improved healing with it several years ago. Then Thrombin was taken off the market in Canada. I understand and appreciate your detailed explanations of why L-PRF is the best & easiest autologous product to improve healing. I have purchased your kit from Dental XP and await with great anticipation to use it. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us. Merci, Ken.

Rehabilitation of the Extreme Atrophic Jaws
In this lecture you will learn several alternatives for the full arch rehabilitation of the jaws with different degrees of resorption. Several cases will be presented step-by-step with high-quality pictures for each technique explained.
The main goals are to avoid complex regeneration procedures, to avoid zigomatic surgery and to still be able to perform immediate loading in the most compromised scenarios. All-on-Four technique, palatal approach technique, pterygoid implants and the most recent Subperiosteal Implants are some of the key-concepts presented.

Modern Implant Dentistry: Rules of Engagement in the Esthetic Zone - Part 2 of 2
This presentation will focus on the interdisciplinary relationship of the restorative dentist, periodontist and orthodontist to reconstruct the soft tissue foundation for all of these restorative options in anterior tooth replacement. The diagnosis of deficiencies as well as the varied treatment options will be discussed in detail. This includes periodontal crown lengthening, esthetic periodontal plastic soft tissue grafting procedures as well as prescription adjunctive orthodontic tooth movement to manipulate the soft tissue foundation prior to or subsequent with the restorative options of implants, bridges, or pontic replacement.

Influence of Thin Mucosal Tissues on Crestal Bone Stability Around Implants With Platform Switching: A 1-year Pilot Study
The aim of this pilot study was to determine what effect thin mucosal tissues can have on crestal bone stability around implants with platform switching. Within the limitations of this pilot study it can be concluded that implants with platform switching did not preserve crestal bone better in comparison with implants with traditional implant-abutment connection if, at the time of implant placement, thin mucosal tissues were present.
