Carlo, you have once again beautifully explained the real benefits of Shoulderless Preparations, and how relevant they are today in light of the evoltion of ceramic material science - Professor Amsterdam would have said this is like Going Back to the Future" - thanks so much David

Great lecture that explains objectively the use of vertical margin preparation. It gives dentist an evidence treatment based knowledge on vertical preparation thereby clarifying the negative data published about it. Thank you very much !

Irene Euler-Kennedy - (9/18/2016 3:12 AM)

if I decide on a vertical Lithium Disilicate veneer margin , that is going subgingivally, the adhesive cement will connect the veneer to cementum. Will this affect the long term performance of the margin?

Dental Ceramics: Material Properties and Clinical Applications Part 3 of 3
This presentation will give viewers a background of the physical and mechanical properties of current dental ceramics. The material properties of the ceramics will be used to explain clinical recommendations for selecting a restorative material and designing the prosthesis. Additionally, laboratory research data will be presented to help the clinician determine the best method to cement or bond an all-ceramic restoration. Finally, an overview of laboratory fabrication of all-ceramic restorations will be presented in order to show clinicians their options when sending out a laboratory prescription.

Pure Dental Esthetics – From Titanium to Zirconia
The replacement of a single tooth with dental implants, especially when the patient has a high smile line, has been an esthetic challenge in implant dentistry. Typically, it requires very careful stages to create the final restoration as natural as possible. When there is loss of soft tissues, carefully made dental-gingival prosthesis becomes an alternative of therapy. For all cases with high smile line, achieving perfection in color and texture of the restoration it's not an easy task. Currently there are some ways to achieve better aesthetic results, including digital scanning of colors. This presentation describes step-by-step the application of a protocol developed in our clinic. Several cases will be discussed. In addition, recent technologies such as zirconium implants are also be discussed.

Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy: Decision Making in the 21st Century
Non-surgical periodontal therapy is a vital part of everyday dental practice. Since the majority of periodontal therapy is performed by general dentists and dental hygienists, it is critical that clinicians have all of the requisite skills and information needed to perform these services at the highest level possible. The purpose of this presentation is to provide the latest evidence- and practice- based information on periodontal debridement and adjunctive therapies that can improve patient outcomes. Though surgical procedures may still need to be performed in some sites, the majority of inflammatory periodontal disease can be eliminated or reduced significantly using the techniques and protocols discussed in this educational segment on non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Efficacy and Persistence of Tooth Bleaching Using a Diode Laser with Three Different Treatment Regimens
Bleaching is the most conservative esthetic treatment for discolored teeth when compared to resin-bonded composites, porcelain veneers, or crowns. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of power bleaching using a laser assisted hydrogen peroxide system, and to determine the stability of the color change over a 6-month period.
