Soft tissue improvement and prosthetic management in the aesthetic zone.
Description:
The restorative dentist is facing many challenges along the aesthetic road. One of the hardest steps is to harmonize the gingival appearance with the white smile. The soft tissue improvement around teeth and implants is really important for the long term outcome. That is why most of today's courses and lectures are focusing on this topic. The presenter will describe some clinical situations where the muco-gingival surgery payed a big role in the final aesthetic result.

Coronally Advanced Envelope Flap - A Step-by-Step Video
In this step-by-step surgical video, Dr. Moura illustrates every aspect of the technique described by Zucchelli and De Sanctis known as the coronally advanced envelope flap. This procedure is utilized for treatment of multiple recession type defects in esthetically demanding patients. After a short technical overview, we will see a clinical case and discuss every detail of the treatment.

Plastic-Esthetic Periodontal and Implant Surgery: A Microsurgical Approach - Part 1
This 2 part presentation is a comprehensive overview of the principles, indications, and clinical techniques of plastic-esthetic periodontal and implant microsurgery, focusing especially on minimal soft tissue trauma and maximally perfect wound closure. Microsurgery provides clinically relevant advantages over conventional macro-surgical concepts for regenerative and plastic-esthetic periodontal surgery, especially in the all-important esthetic zone. The microsurgical principles and procedures presented will described using high resolution multimedia.

Soft Tissue Management and Functional Mock-Ups
Patients desiring a cosmetic smile improvement can present treatment planning challenges. An excessive display of gingiva resulting from a high lip line often complicates treatment planning and can compromise the final esthetic result. As we evaluate the patient, we often have to ask ourselves, do we “lower the river” (increase tooth length incisally), “raise the bridge” (increase tooth length gingivally) or use a combination of both approaches? This article addresses this issue using a methodological…

Current Trends in Gingival Recession Coverage
The recession of the gingiva is increasingly becoming a more prominent condition in the oral health of many patients and should be treated at its earliest detection. The multifactorial etiology, decision modality, and current trends followed in the treatment of gingival recession are discussed in this presentation. The correction of Class I and II gingival recessions are presented as a means of minimizing surgical trauma and achieving predictable aesthetic results. Part II of this discussion will present alternative techniques in treating gingival recession.
