The “Advanced” PRF (A-PRF) and “Injectable” PRF (I-PRF) protocols were designed with this new concept. Indications are numerous in all medical fields where we need regeneration: bone, cartilage, skin etc... However, the use of growth factors is not a guarantee of long term stability, as they are active only at the beginning of the process. Numerous rules of tissue engineering have to be applied to maintain the regenerated bone through an adequate blood supply: this lecture is an enlightenment on the biological and mechanical conditions for long term stability of the bone: “grafted bone” or “bone around implants”.

Implants have been one of the major breakthroughs in dentistry. Tissue collapse around dental implants is our number one enemy as it gives rise to serious problems that go from inflammation, through many times chronic infection, all the way down to severe recession, seriously compromising not only esthetics, but also function and our patients well being. Strategies have been developed to help clinicians to try to avoid collapse. Among the most important are procedures such as: grafting the gap; GBR with several biomaterials and barriers; flapless approaches; immediate implant placement after tooth removal with provisionalization using CAD-CAM & 3D technologies and ultimately PET strategies also combined or not with immediate load

The Esthetic Reconstructive TRIAD: "GBR, GTR and Tissue Molding"
Implant dentistry in the esthetic zone is highly challenging. In recent years there are several studies, well defined approaches available on how to achieve pleasing outcomes. We must understand the biology of extraction sites and different treatment options for preserving or even reconstructing bony structures for predictable implant placement. This clinical and evidence based presentation will emphasize the importance of proper 3-dimensional implant placement, show different bone preservation techniques i.e P.E.T. (Partial Extraction Therapy) and how soft tissue grafting can effect the final end result. However we must admit that not only surgery but prosthetic skills have a major influence on our work. Implant placement must be determined with the prosthetic plan in mind! On the other hand abutment design, platform shifting concept as tissue molding “tools” and screw retained solutions will be high-lighted with lots of case presentations.

Today it is essential to combine “white” tooth esthetics with “pink” gingival aspects. Understanding the individual prosthetic, surgical, and biologic limitations is part of innovative treatment-planning protocols developed in an approach to provide, simplify, and expedite minimally invasive limited therapy. Labial Bone Thickness in Area of Anterior Maxillary Implants Associated with Crestal Labial Soft Tissue Thickness
Soft tissue problems (ie, gingival recessions) are common in implantology and are often associated with thin soft tissue biotypes or buccally placed implants. Goaslind described 2 types of biotypes commonly found in the natural dentition: thick and thin. It has been suggested that thicker soft tissue biotypes are associated with less tissue recession, higher crestal bone levels, and better aesthetics. A thin tissue biotype has been shown to be more prone to tissue recession. Gingival recession is always associated with alveolar bone dehiscences. Furthermore, there is evidence that thick soft tissue may be protective against crestal bone loss (ie, tissue thickness of ,2.5 mm resulted in crestal bone loss of 1.45 mm vs. thicker tissues had 0.26 mm). This protective effect occurred, despite the supracrestal position of the implant-abutment interface.
