Absolutely...first the trial smile to get the patient's reaction to a lighter shade and different shape if possible. Then the impression is made of the trial smile if approved and then the next approval comes with the temporary where changes can still be made. In fact, I do not even start construction of the finals until the patient signs off and approves the temporary restoration. So now the ceramist has a very close mock up of the design for the final restoration

Excellent clinical work and presentation. If you were initially making the FPD, do you prefer to work out the esthetic and phonetic aspects during the provisional phase and make fabricate a provisional cast for the lab to use for the final?
