The Use of Emdogain and BioOss Collagen in Bone Regenerative Procedures
Description:
This video will discuss the steps necessary to preapre a site for bone regenerative procedures. The materials used for regeneration in the cases discussed will be Emdogain and BioOss collagen. Reentry of the areas will be shown and in several cases 10+ years visual evaluation will be seen.

Not meant in any way other than I believe the fee is based on the skill and overhead involved with each and every surgery. Materials also play a part in the fee obviously.
Thanks!

What is a reasonable fee for such a service?

Certainly makes sense. Emdogain has this really property of preventing epithelial migration and thus saves us the use of barriers. If you are worried about this problem then Emdogain makes sense for sue in sockets.
Thanks!

Dr Melker, excellent presentation! You mentioned that Emdogain can prevent epithelial migration and therefore there is no need for a barrier. Would you consider using Emdogain mixed with the bone allograft for socket preservation if a connective tissue barrier is not going to be utilised? Would you add Emdogain alone on the coronal part of the socket?

Thanks Sam. I have multiple DVD's on ways to keep teeth for long term stability as many do on DentalXP. I am nearing 40 years in practice and have yet to place an implant. So I have yo come up with all these treatments learned from others to keep my practice going.
Have a great day,
Danny

Dr. Melker; Incredible documentation and presentation. Much to learn from SAVING TEETH. Every seems to simply want to extract and place titanium screws. This shows that more simple and cost effective approaches can be much better. Please share more with us. THANKS Sam

I opened around 200 sites of say 300 areas treated. Why? I wanted to know if the procedure I was doing worked and so did my patients. Why do something that does not work? Seeing is believing. The discomfort to open up a site a year later is 0. Obviously no charge to the patient. The product was brand new when I started using it. Also EMD was only FDA approved to be used alone. I used it initially with freeze dried demineralized bone. Have a great day! Thanks Paul for your question. Danny

is it always a good idea to open the gum to check the healing site after one year elapsed.
what is the purpose of checking the site surgically if no procedure is to be done. or is it only to show the audience how these materials work.
nice presentation for what can really work.
your feed back is appreciated

Dimension of the Facial Bone Plate - Literature Review Series
In this first of the series, Dr. Henry Salama will review a group of articles related to the dimensions of the facial bone plate. He will suggest what can be taken away from these articles as well as how they may influence clinical decisions in the treatment of extraction sites and immediate implant placement. Your participation in the form of comments, questions and suggestions are welcomed and will help invigorate what is hoped to be a type of online community study hall.

New Concepts in the Management of the Deficient Posterior Maxilla
Poor bone quality and anatomic deficiencies have traditionally limited posterior maxillary tooth replacement. The goal of this presentation is to discuss advantages of contemporary treatment options, instruments and materials that have been developed to overcome the common challenges that the clinician encounters when planning for posterior maxillary implant rehabilitation. Advantages, limitations, and realistic short- and long-term expectations will be discussed.

Alloplastic Bone Substitutes Around Dental Implants
The repair of osseous defects has been a goal in dentistry for many decades. Subsequently, within the last several years, there has been an emergence of a new class of materials in dentistry referred to as synthetic bone. Finding the ideal bone substitute material has been the goal of researchers for many years. In attempting to achieve this ideal material, dental practitioners have tried with varying degrees of success: autogenous and demineralized freeze-dried bone, allografts of plastic, carbon…

Fibrinogen-Induced Regeneration Sealing Technique (F.I.R.S.T.). An Improvement and Modification of Traditional GBR: A Report of Two Cases
Guided bone regeneration is a technique widely known, clinicians know very well indications and
limitations of this technique. One of the principles to achieve bone augmentation and formation resides
in the stability of the blood clot forming under a barrier membrane. The technique proposed in this article
has the goal of providing stabilization to the bone graft by adding fibrin sealant (FS) to the bone graft and
also using the fibrin sealant to attach a bone membrane (cortical lamina) to the recipient site. This simple
modification of the technique of guided bone regeneration is presented in two successful cases.
